I don't think it necessarily is...some performers seem very aware of it...and so does the audience to a point.

Of course. Would you call humans intelligent? Then tell me.. why didn't they take a vid cam to the moon? Ah, because they never went there. Now they are planning to visit Mars lol

Really, they forgot to take a camera to the moon? Then where did all that footage come from of astronauts jumping around? And if you're going to say "they faked it in the desert", that still doesn't acknowledge the presence of the supposedly forgotten camera.

Sorry, such things annoy me... I work in aerospace.

Pop music is a pretty broad category. There have been plenty of intelligent and articulate artists working within the umbrella of pop music over the decades. However, I see precious little evidence of that within the current crop of mainstream performers.
