I said the basic riff of My Sharona was moronic. I revel in it. I don't think there's anything wrong with stupidity in rock music. I think it's rather the point much of the time. As to chords, I don't think having a lot of chordal movement is anything in and of itself. I like music with no chords, a drone.

I don't really buy that complexity is necessarily more virtuous than simplicity. Or vice versa for that matter.
