Watermarking audio and video - tools for that?

Is that separate tools somehow, or part of some editors?
Thinking both audio and images/video - to proove origin etc.
Embed some trademark and serial number and so on.
How does it work exactly?
That if you can provide the right key, you can proove this is your stuff, or similar?

A Reaper JS effect called "spectroimagestamper" can stamp an image over the actual audio spectrogram.

You could also use Virtual ANS that is for free...
It is a sound manipulator that works the sound as image. Meaning that you could feed the audio sneak in your signature or whatever you want as image, separate your signature as a solo track and mix it in again with your track... The trick is to find the right spot where it would not be audible...
