yo, have any of you guys tried nomads factory plugins and if you own or have used them, what are your thoughts?

Post

Magnetic and Echoes. Lovely plugins with unique character. Not for every situation.

Post

Just started using them this year - I have to say, I really like them, and don't understand what seems like a lot of negativity towards them on the forumz...

Magnetic is good for things like Rhodes, but I don't like it on the master buss.

The bluetubes stuff is great, I really like the tube driver and the blueverb.

Echoes is lovely.

Cosmos is very useful on things like BVs.

Overall I'd recommend them, especially if you can find a deal on the Integral Studio Pack.

+1 for Pultec, Magnetic and Echoes. Echoes are my go to plugin for tape echoes - I have plugins with more features, but Echoes sound the best for me. And maybe the British Bundle - eq and compressor.

The rest (I bought whole bundle long ago) is a little bit meh IMO. Effects are not flexible and too stuck in "we have to emulate the analog workflow" (if I remember right delays without tempo sync), the eq and comps sound very similar to me.

But the above mentioned plugins are really shining sound wise above the rest of Nomad stuff :).

Another magnetic 2 user here. Normally used to thicken up a thin sound before exporting it for a mix.

Love the EQ in british bundle. Its my go to character EQ, great on distorted 303 type sounds.

Honestly, despite the cool GUIs, I think most of their stuff sound cheap and harsh, at least to my ears.

I never took the time to properly analyze them, but I suspect the culprits to be digital artifacts/aliasing/undesired distortions.

It's been a few years since I last tested their plugins, though. Maybe they sound better now.
