Kick synth, what is important?

i can't work out the octave up ring either
there are three triggers in all
which gives that phase stuff you see in the trace
in reaktor i put two delays on the trigger impulse
i used a custom envelope to provide the impulse

the pitch envelope sweeps filter cutoff....

you could look at retriggering your oscillator
but i not sure how that might work
or delays on the oscillator
guessing here and it may not be effective

as i said
i don't think there is a lot wrong with your instrument

Retriggering would be a quite different thing on an oscillator than on a filter. It does not quite even makes sense, since it doesn't start with an impulse like a filter-based kick does. It is just two different ways that happens to yield similar results but not quite the same.
A retrigger of oscillator would in most cases mean resetting phase.. That would sound clicky. (actually the click knob in body section is just offset where the sine starts, really really simple but effective).
