Should be a name that is easy to remember and can be pronounced in all countries...
What about "Mattertunes"?

One of the biggest names in EDM is called Deadmau5 for goodness sake! He named himself after finding a dead mouse in his computer. Clearly names aren't everything, and the need to suggest a grand sweeping idea, play on words, or an invitation to some huge imagined world is not needed. A dead mouse inside a computer.
Total honest reaction here: When I hear Gri3fer, I think of Minecraft, and I think of dubstep, and by association I suppose people in their 20's. Not in a particularly positive or negative way, it's just where the name points me. Make of that what you will. I think it's a good name for someone who does dubstep or harsh music, causing "grief" to the listener (figuratively of course)
I've considered changing my project name from Sendy to some more clever stuff, but people say they like the child-like and gender-neutral sound of it. Sometimes I honestly think it sounds kinda lame an ineffectual, but that could just be the societal male bias kicking in. But "Sendy" has become synonymous with disorienting and experimental hand-built sounds and drum sequences, at least for a small group of my listeners. So I see no point in changing it.
Names aren't really that important, and you build up name recognition slowly. Only when you're super-big can you really change your name without damaging that momentum.

You pointed example about a guy that wears mouse mask on his head based on his rather unique and catchy name to show again that name and appearance doesn't mean anythingSendy wrote:One of the biggest names in EDM is called Deadmau5 for goodness sake! You build your name recognition with your music and presence, right, but in this over saturated market where your music isn't that unique, you rely on what ever is left and that are gimmicks which include names, costumes and anything else that is left, for crying out loud, there are topless chicks DJ's, that's their thing, nothing less, nothing more, they DJ toplessNames aren't really that important, and you build up name recognition slowly

Hell, yeah. This is why King Uszniewicz & His Uszniewicztones didn't make it to the top.Frantz wrote:That stage name is congruent to success.
How about DATrat, or DATr4t, or D4Tr4t, or 047R47...Aloysius wrote:Deadrat5

It's pretty cool, it makes an impression.
Myself, I'd go with my real name. I'm just a boring nerd. Until a girl takes over, then you see how weird it gets.
