This would make my life SO much easier. Since this is not possible with AU (and Im a mac guy..) I didnt know about this!
+1 for the MIDI out pin for the Windows VST .

I'm not a developer nor a Mac guy but I've read for Mac there's the (obviously relatively new) MIDI FX format which some developers use (which can do MIDI out to the host as I understand it).

Don't know if this is Logic only and if MIDI FX can take audio input (which would be necessary with your plugin I guess), but maybe worth having a closer look (if you didn't already anyway).

When executing the helper directly as admin, is something supposed to open, or is it just automatically running in the background?
Nothing appears to be happening when I execute it.

The icon for it should appear down in the lower-right corner of your screen. It doesn't tell you it's "running" per se, but if you see that icon, it's running. To stop it, just right-click on that icon and choose "Exit".

Hope that helps.

I was just double-clicking the Desktop shortcut; I need to figure out why there's a shortcut for it on my desktop.

Well, you spoke and I listened...

A new version of MiGiC is available for download at http://www.bituosity.com and this version is equipped with a midi out pin eliminating the need for MiGiC helper and rtpMidi(No longer bundled or required).

Good luck and happy beta testing :)

I downloaded the mac version yesterday. The AU shows up in Live 9 32 bit but will not open. The VST doesn't show up at all. Logic X can't open the AU, either. I'm running OSX 10.8, has anyone got it working on this?

Thats actually next on my "to do list".. It seems that since I compiled the AU with OS X 10.10 (and therefore the SDK for 10.10) there are some issues running it on systems older than 10.9.5.

I am currently trying to get my hands on an older SDK or Mac with OS X 10.6 to compile on so that you can enjoy MiGiC starting from 10.6. Apple doesn't seem to release old SDKs at their developer center so I will probably have to find an old Mac or download an old version of xCode.

Although I am surprised that the VST didn't show up in Ableton.. Can you find it under /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST?

Cheers

Yes it's in the folder, just doesn't show up in Live.

You may need to use it to get the VST to work properly, as I did. Basically, if you see that MiGiC is tracking your incoming signal but you still hear nothing from it, you'll need to run MiGiC Helper.

Steve
EDIT: In light of the latest update (which I didn't see before responding to this), you may not need MiGiC Helper at all now.

Doesn't allow me to play very fast, so far only Sonuus is up to that task, I tried it with and without a limiter pedal before it, that's how you get Sonuus to work.

Hey, it's nice that you fixed it!

Testing it here shows latencies of ~20ms for the low E string and ~5ms for the high E. This is pretty much the same as the Sonuus!
