Post

Here is something i did for a previous Kvr Osc challenge using Synthmaster.... Please listen to it and tell me if there were any wrong or debateable sound elements I may have used in this Tune.... My ears right now are plugged up with cortisone and earplugs under the ENT specialist orders... i am in great pain at the moment with my ears and hope to recover to enter again with a new track for this challenge.

Good Luck to everyone here!! May the force be with ja alll!!

Those people who have all the soundbanks, I really hope you can sift through the drum presets and share the ones that can be used if you don't want to build from scratch.
It looks like the soundbanks for Rob Lee EDM #2 and #4 contain the most drum patches. I'm pretty sure those are all synthesized instead of sampled.

I own the Everything bundle and have been playing around with the Player to see what limitations it has. It looks like it imported all of the Everything bundle official soundbanks just fine, so if you purchase any of their official soundbanks it should work. Unfortunately it does not let me import any custom presets I made with the full version of Synthmaster.
Exactly this is the problem. The ones who has the full version can make and share their custom presets, but they have got already the advantage of the full version. The ones who need most badly some user presets are the ones which only have got the Player version and exactly this Player version does not allow imports. But thank you for trying too :)
SoundGoddess wrote: I think the solution will have to be that those of us with full SM put together some drum patches for the community and then supply them to KV331 who will then be able to encode them into an official soundbank (smpb) specifically for this OSC. Otherwise I really don't know how anyone with the free player will be able to make drum sounds as it only lets you manipulate patches with easy controls instead of customizing them.
That`s also the only way I see. Another idea would be (but they probably won`t do it): There was a free version of the Synthmaster Synthesizer at a german music magazine which calls "Beat". I had this trial version and it is really cool, but of course with limited features. I really do not understand why KV331 Audio didn`t donate this free version of the Synthmaster Synthesizer for the OSC #73, because that would have been anyway the best advertisment for their Synthesizer

After trying this Beat version of Synthmaster I decided to buy the full version because this limited version was already more than great. User could make own patches and load patches made by other user. So why donating this useless Player instead of the limited Beat version of Synthmaster??? It`s just a question

So if you ask me: That would the best idea.

As far as I can tell user presets go under (for windows users) :

C:\User\My Documents\SynthMaster\Presets

pop the presets in their and see if they show up on the preset list/browser in synthmaster?
Yep. Worked :D

In my case I don`t find it at the preset browser among the username Spidergod, but I have found them at the drums preset listed. At least one thing that works

Thanks Spidergod, cool beats :)

I can also try to make some drum patches later in the evening today, but this does not help the ones with the Player version. I hope this problem can be solved anyway, because if not, then I think the disadvantage becomes bigger than expected.

???? KV331 Audio don`t wish to sell Synthmaster??? Sorry, but I`m afraid I`m still not awake enough for to understand your joke (?)

When you make your patches please label the bank name as "OSC #73" under the preset tab before saving, that way everyone who contributes patches can have them showing up at the same place in the browser. :tu:

Once we get enough patches together then we can approach KV331 and submit the patches to them so they can encode it to allow those with the Player version to use the patches.

Thanks and glad you liked the drum presets, hopefully they will be of use to folks.

Or just create something that doesn't require 'drums in the traditional sense' this is supposed to be a challenge after all :)

Arghhhh I cannot get a track down :( I want to create a crazy psy trance style of track but cannot get anything to fit right.
I am starting to drift back to making an ambient track.

Here's the updated preset bank with Spidergod's presets added. I updated the attributes so that everything shows up under bank name OSC #73.

If nobody's opposed I'll appoint myself keeper of the preset bank, just PM me with your presets and I'll add them to the bank. Once we have enough to get everyone started I'll ask KV311 to encode them for us so that the Player users can access them.

I was messing around with SM Player Free within Mulab and it seems that all the parameters show up within the host so it could be possible to create more complex patches than we think, via automation, hmmm must have a play.
