Hi Dan. Great video!

In the video you mentioned that this eq technique is similar to eqing the sidechain. Do you know if there is any way to eq the sidechain on Fabfilter Saturn?

Yes you can EQ the sidechain for Saturn, assuming you mean the sidechain for the envelope follower or envelope generator modulators. How you route this will depend on your DAW however.

If you mean the sidechain for the one knob compression effect then no, not directly, but you can use the technique I showed in the video above (which will also shape the saturation).

Thanks Dan, just as I thought. I was aware that you could sidechain for the envelope follower or envelope generator modulators......I think FF have missed a trick here, with the direct EQing of the sidechain however.

I use Cubase, AFAIK there is no way to link parameters so the best way for me to achieve this emphasis EQ effect would be to EQ the sidechain rather than tweaking the EQ's independantly.

It shouldn't be too difficult for them to implement though should it? And surely it would make an already great plugin even better!

I think adding parameters to an existing plug without breaking compatibility is harder than you think...

Not sure external sidechain inputs are really appropriate for a one-knob compressor to be honest. Pro-C or Pro-MB both have sidechain inputs.

Thanx Dan, very cool and informative video. As usual. :tu:
