Hi everybody.
Here is my track for this months OSC:
https://soundcloud.com/rolandreagan/lem ... abbit-hole
The tracks is called Further Down the Rabbits Hole and uses 37 instances of Hive and was made in Ableton Live 9 using only Lives native fx devices. Hive is great sounding synth and easy to program, thus it was a very enjoyable OSC.
I also made some visuals for the track just for fun if you want to check it out it's here:
http://youtu.be/n86EpLnadOY
It's great to be back in OSC, best of luck to everyone!

Greetings KVR and OSC enthusiasts! Sorry for the late entry, but man, has it been a helluva month with it's ups and downs -- almost didn't think this one would get finished. Put a lot of thought into this track, and it's one of the few productions I've ever made I am satisfied with. Massive thanks to Urs and the u-he team... something about u-he and me just jive right : )
and a special thanks to Animehaus for his help/critique. Stay awesome man!

Hive x18 (edit: updated after accidental deletion!)
Main buss: SlickEQ > Fruity Multiband > W1 Limiter (latest beta)
FX: Fruity Limiter x4, ReaComp x4 (3 for sidechaining), NastyVCS, Fruity Filter, ReaEQ x5, BootEQ, CamelCrusher
~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-
dunno if it matters but it's made with the older beta :p

Oh, wow...
There´s a lot going on here in the last few hours, huh?!
Can´t wait to hear all the tracks... WELL DONE, Everybody!
I´m so glad to see some of the big old OSC competitiors (irion, solidtrax, jasinski, doc jon, photonic, etc etc....).
Can´t wait to hear all of your tracks, as well as the entries of the other new contestants...!
Also: I have mastered my entry (even if I had no chance to master it on my studio monitors - my neighbours would have killed me ) and uploaded the final version.

Let´s get on with listening, commenting and voting!

This is my first ever OSC entry too!
15x Hive instances
All sounds started from scratch.
No external effects, apart from few clippers and a mild compressor on output.
Sequenced with Cubase 7.5.30 x64
I started this track today, the last day of participating. Used about 6 hours on it total.
As Hive is touted as a "unison device" i used as much voices on every patch as i could. I also ran everything at 96KHz to get the best sound and worst performance. Everything was run live, but still only took around 20% CPU (around 1100 oscillators!) Hive is really light and hence a joy to work with.
Plugins used:
7x GClip (freeware)
1x FXPansion DCam FreeComp (freeware)

How do you master your track, as in does everyone mean they master outside of their daw? I have asked in a private message before without reply, I'm curious what is allowed since AFAIK exported/bounced audio can't be altered?

Anyone else notice that the original Beta has just expired>
I'm currently backing up all my presets etc. and will try to pull off a switch-a-rooney with the new installer/serial. I'll let you all know how it goes but would be interested if anyone has some info or advice regarding this.

There's an updated one with expiration in March. I just installed the newer beta and all seemed fine.H-man wrote:Anyone else notice that the original Beta has just expired>

Okay well I'm on to it. Just backing up all of my presets again from the project as there are things that I have changed that will be only saved in the DAW itself.z.prime wrote:There's an updated one with expiration in March. I'm guessing that switching the dll will wipe these changes? Better save than sorry I suppose.

Did you send me a pm?? Or to someone else?LuxLucid wrote:Gunna be a long voting month! I, too, look forward to itBjulin wrote:Oh, wow...

I didn´t get any pm!
Mastering for me means, that I´m going through all the channels, cutting out all unneccessary frequencies, eqing in general, refining automations, working on the atmosphere/rooms.
On my masterbus, there´s nothing but a multiband compressor and a simple limiter.
So, basically you can call it cleaning up the whole thing. (I´m not bouncing anything)
Hope this helps...

Hey I'm new to kvr and making music in general but I decided to jump in and go for it. I hope some of you like my track. I've never tried drum and bass before but I'm proud of how this came out.

@MegaMeganium: don't try to post a soundcloud player, just post the URL to your track; KVR forum will give it a player (if you have enough posts). You also need to announce the details of your track like everyone else has done: number of hive instances, host used, all the plugins used...
Cheers.
Cheers.
