Great module/s Kirsty - please just make an anti-aliased GUI and I will purchase them suddenly, even at a higher price. It would worth it.

I am working on anti-aliased cables as part of an update, probably with
interactive integrated GUI elements.

Nice to see it running in Orion.
Clipper and Signal Mixer.

Hi Kirsty,
any news about 'the anti-aliased GUI version' of XSRDO Patchwork Modular?
Can't wait to have fun with it...

Yes I made anti-aliased and semi-transparent cables by loading the backgroundxhunaudio wrote:Hi Kirsty,

skin into the patchwork GUI module. But currently that only works for a
single GUI ie: no page panels. I am porting it all to 64bit using VC2010.

Great :)
Nice to know your dev is on the go. But, when using a paged panels setup, does it crash or simply anti-aliasing/transparency is not effective?
PS: You could also insert into the XSRDO modules a pin input to set a 'color code ' (rgb or html) instead of loading the main background image to make the anti-aliased mode (or also a text link to load images from the skin folder). This approach maybe could be used for loading different 'backgrounds' dynamically...

In order to blend a pixel I need to know the RGB of the pixels around it.xhunaudio wrote:Great

Patch bay does this by loading the background image into a buffer and computing
the new RGB values for the cables.
When you switch page panels in SE the patch bay needs to know what panel is
selected and load up the appropriate background GUI's file name.
But it's not just the background. Don't forget the knobs, switches etc...
I haven't worked out how to do this yet. I am thinking about using OpenGL in
tandem with my own code to achieve this as I would like to introduce alpha
blended drop shadows for the cables to provide a 3d depth effect.
I would like to do all this dynamically in code because someone might put
a moving image 'behind' the cables on their GUI.
Cable colours can now be set RGB style from a text input pin.
Oh yeah, and I might also do rotational plug ends, just like real jack plugs. Don't hold your breath

Great idea also to choose the cross-platform OpenGL. In this way it is ready for a future OSX porting when a SE version will be available (the long, long awaited one... )
Have a great 2013, Kirsty, talk soon
