My favourite Apple fanboy is one at the macrumors forum that calls Samsung "North Korean Overlords".

His iPad is probably 50% 'North Korean'.

Great news about the future of Windows Update:

And for those that don't find much novelty in the preview yet:

Hmm? Shouldn't it be "South Korean"? Or am I missing something?

Here's another thing about Windows 10 - native DX12. It will effectively more than double the performance of most GPUs, at no extra cost.

This is a very solid performance issue. Windows is a great platform for mainstream professionals who value performance. And who doesn't?

Forget privacy with Windows 10. Copied from the [anti]privacy statement for the tech preview:
Data We Collect

Microsoft collects many kinds of information in a variety of ways in order to operate effectively and provide you with the best products, services and experiences we can. We may combine this data with information that is linked to your user ID, such as information contained in your Microsoft account.

When you acquire, install and use the Program, Microsoft collects information about you, your devices, applications and networks, and your use of those devices, applications and networks. Examples of data we collect include your name, email address, preferences and interests; browsing, search and file history; phone call and SMS data; device configuration and sensor data; and application usage. For example, when you:

install the Program, we may collect information about your device and applications and use it for purposes such as determining or improving compatibility;

use voice input features, such as speech-to-text, we may collect voice information and use it for purposes such as improving speech processing;

open a file, we may collect information about the file, the application used to open the file and how long it takes and use it for purposes such as improving performance; or

enter text, we may collect typed characters and use them for purposes such as improving auto-complete and spell check features.
Controlling the Transmission of Data

Use of the Program is at your discretion. Many features that transmit data to Microsoft are enabled automatically. You may not have the option to turn off the transmission of data for certain features in the Program.

To stop the transmission of all data, you must completely uninstall the Program from all of your devices.

Complete with keylogger and all. You may 'turn off' the privacy invasion by uninstalling Windows 10.

That's just during the Technical Preview phase, experienced testers don't put personal data in such an installation. Read this:

http://www.winbeta.org/news/using-windo ... p-feedback

"We must stress that the feedback being collected in the Windows Technical Preview will only occur within the Technical Preview period. Once Windows 10 launches to the public as RTM, the data Microsoft collects will be removed from the operating system. This isn't a permanent feature within Windows 10, and therefore should not be a concern to your average Joe."

Besides, that is an odd worry for someone called 'sellyoursoul'.

I could understand collecting data which pertains to Windows features, but personal data such as...
. Examples of data we collect include your name, email address, preferences and interests; browsing, search and file history; phone call and SMS data;
...is going too far. And the tech preview is open to the public, meaning that a good portion of tech preview users will be your 'average Joe'. Taking that into consideration, if ms sees no problem with violating privacy now (including in windows 8/8.1), why would they make any real changes in the 10 release?

On the screen name, what can I say? I like to instigate thinking. What did it make you think?

I was thinking maybe there was some "mobile" release that was the 9th. Not sure what mobile stuff even runs on Windows, if any. :tu:

I think your concerns are more than justified. But fortunately, the preview policy is very different from MS normal policy, for some reason. I very, very much hope this doesn't carry over to Windows 10. We all seriously need to make sure that doesn't happen.

My Microsoft account has only my name and e-mail. That's it. And they collect nothing...all of it can be turned off.

If your 'average Joe' installs this I have no pity for him.

And the bit about your screen name was obviously a joke.

Maybe if we get every windows KVR user to get involved in this program and ALL request an aggregate audio devices function (like OSX) so that we can use more than one sound card without having to aiso4aLL -
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S49MK2, Studio One, BWS, Live 12. PUSH 3 SA, Osmose, Summit, Pro 3, Prophet8, Syntakt, Digitone, Drumlogue, OP1-F, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Nord Drum3P, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!
