Hi Alesis,

Thanks for your suggestion but the track is not armed. For example if I open a new project and directly import a midi file. And then select an Xpand instrument, I get no sound from the track.

Anyway, I have registered on their forum, still waiting for them to accept my registration.

Does it work if you input new MIDI notes on a blank track (from scratch) and only have Xpand!2 loaded up, then start the playback?

Sometimes MIDI files are set up a certain way, going to other MIDI channels, and you have to change them around to get it to work right.

It is rompler with 2469 presets, nothing else.

Actually it seems to use 4 synth engines (sample playback, FM, wavetable, drawbars), not only samples but you could only propgram it with the 6 macro knobs in each layer (and a few more controls for the FXs etc.). Besides that it is indeed mostly about the presets but there is a huge amount of them (both multiple layers, partly with key splits, and single layers) and many of them sound great IMO.
You could also create your own layered patches (up to 4 layers) with layer and/or split (key ranges adjustable) or use it as a 4 part multitimbral synth.
