Hamburger distortion unit. Currently in early alpha but totally usable. Supports Linux, Mac and Windows. CLAP too.

Update: the plugin has been updated to version 0.3 and is being sold as PWYW at ko-fi for those that want to support the dev: https://ko-fi.com/s/6e7ded34dc.

Comprez is a simple but fast, versatile compressor plug-in.
It's ready to give you a special compressor experience you may never have before. Although there are only 4 controllers currently, it does not limit your creation.

The developer also has a more conventional website that features a more refined looking v2 of Hamburger with a freely available early access version:sprnva wrote: ↑Sat Apr 06, 2024 10:27 pm Hamburger distortion unit. That's the old version. They've moved it to ko-fi. I got this news in an email yesterday:
There is a linux binary available in the 0.2 alpha release on github. The current version builds fine from source if you want the latest.I just want to update you that I will be releasing my plugins (Hamburger) on Ko-Fi going forward. I believe it is a better place for me to distribute my works for the time being.
As the website is being updated, URLs will be changed to Ko-Fi ones. The version of the plugin on LemonSqueezy is outdated. Newer versions of Hamburger (with performance upgrades, better tones, and a more usable UI) will now be here (Free as stated):

Thanks, one day i'll get my head around github..
That alpha version works fine for me in Reaper (ubuntustudio, clap, native Reaper), Will watch it's development for sure. Maybe i'll try building it.

The linux building is fixed on github now but it hasn't been added to the release links.
You can get it from the bottom of this page. You have to sign in to github for the artifacts to become downloadable.

And in todays episode of "look what I just found on Github" we have The Kiss of Shame. An unreleased tape plugin that is being resurrected. Here's a little bit of the description:
Mac and Windows binaries are available from the releases page. It also builds fine on Linux but you'll have to do this yourself for now.The Kiss of Shame was the worlds first (and perhaps only) tape / analog circuitry emulation plugin that realistically models the effects of magnetic particle instability, lubricant loss, substrate deformation, drift, scrape-flutter, print-through and reel expansion/contraction into a suite of FX processing tools for sound design and music production.
The goal of this open source project is:
To finish the plug-in and make binary releases available. [DONE]
Figure out how it works and document the code for eductional purposes. [DONE]
Potentially, improve the code.
NOTE: The source code that was donated does not contain all the features from the description. Notably, there is only one tape type and one environment (Hurricane Sandy), and the print-through function is missing. In its current form the plug-in only works well at a 44100 Hz sample rate. That said, it's still a fun plug-in with a cool UI, and there's a lot to learn from the source code!
