Would you rather read a grumpy old fart's review trying to find bad things about everything or someone's who's really enjoying something and wanting to tell you why?It's often hard to find really bad stuff when it's a creative tool.. If you're creative you can often make the bad into a good. Of course, sometimes there's a good plugin with annoying and possibly dangerous demo limitation in the form of beeps and noises. Sometimes a feature is lacking that you really expected to be there .. or there's too many clicks for something that wouldn't need to be. Maybe it's crash prone or using too much cpu for the quality of sound.
When you buy a pack of so many plugins you can't expect to like them ALL. If you're lacking in some plugin area, maybe you don't have a chorus or enough compressors (joke), then it fills that void. Some are better than what you got and will replace what you have. Focusing a review on the ones that are bad for you makes little sense in that case!
