Within the last week:
-- new computer for my wife, since hers fried.
-- external SATA drive enclosure to help her copy her old data. I wish I'd done that for previous computer replacements since it's so much easier than installing the thing internally.
-- new printer that is actually kind of awesome. Epson WorkForce somenumberorother. It was $125 and has wifi, a touchscreen, two actual paper cartridges instead of the crappy non-working feeder our old printer had. I printed a full-age color photo from my phone and it took about 6 seconds.
-- built a new standing desk and speaker stands for myself since I inherited my wife's old LCD monitor. This one is 80" wide, big enough for two LCDs, my studio monitors, and the new printer; MIDI keyboard goes on the main surface and QWERTY keyboard goes on a tray I transplanted from my old desk.
-- an EBow. My guitar and my guitar playing are about on equal levels of suck, but this thing is pretty cool. It works on my violin too, but only if I hold it exactly over the 2nd or 3rd harmonic.
-- ordered a cheap short-scale fretless bass (SX Ursa something). I figure this will work a lot better for me than my guitar does -- it'll be like holding my violin guitar-style and plucking it like I do. Same tuning as a violin and I don't really do chords anyway. I'm looking forward to it.

Had to get an external HDD for my laptop to store all the Sample Packs that come with Live 9 Suite ...
I picked up this 1TB Touro Mobile MX3 for £53 on Amazon. I would have gone for a solid state drive, but the prices are a bit high (£60 for 60MB).

I just bought some rack parts from Pro Audio Stash too, thinking it was an Aussie company ... d'oh!Mushy Mushy wrote:2U sliding shelf for the laptop.
This will be used to convert 2 Ikea stands to racks for patch bays, a couple of synths and some effects boxes. Once that's done everything should be set up so that I can patch all my audio, sequencing + CV gear from anywhere to anywhere
Peace,
Andy.

Andy, I'm chuffed with them mate. Quality product. Immediate delivery. And the packaging was top notch.
Your patching plan sounds identical to what I'm doing here.
The cables are seriously breaking me though. Think I would have spent £500 on them in the last month or so

I can see why people make their own cables now, might be time to start for basic CV at least.
Peaec,
Andy.

That thing looks very practical. Even has a little shelf to stand the new Mac Pro on and let the 124.295 wires dangle down. One can even stack external Thunderbolt enclosures on the foot of the stand.Mushy Mushy wrote:Floor standing monitor stand to free up desk space

Tascam SSR1
Which I'm a little disappointed with TBH. I expected it to have a USB out so I could transfer back and forward to my PC. Should have researched more thoroughly before purchase
