it would be useful (i think) if ppl put a link here for any music related competions they find around the interwebz....everyone likes to win free stuff, so a sticky thread with links could be cool....?

(The below text is a repost of PFozz/Philippe's earlier post in the Instruments forum)
Here is a chance to win some eaReckon plugins, including EAReverb and the ANALOG87 Series which just got 3 awards and an amazing review in Computer Music 180 (August 2012).
For those who do not have access to the magazine, here is what it is all about...
"For Computer Music 180's competition, we've teamed up with ace plug-in developers eaReckon to give away €1758 of their superb plug-ins.
Four winners will score the first-place bundle, containing the splendid eaReverb (8/10, cm164), which provides smooth, natural-sounding reverb, and the awesome ANALOG87 Series (reviewed in cm180), where you'll find five ace EQ and dynamics plug-ins. With these powerful, musical plug-ins at your beck and call, you'll be that bit closer to creating your best mixes ever.
Two second place winners will each receive a copy of eaReverb (€129), while two third-placed readers get the ANALOG87 bundle (€99).
Finally, ten runners-up can choose any single ANALOG87 plug-in from the series (worth up to €39)."
Should you want to participate, please go to the Computer Music facebook page, like them (they deserve it!) and click on the "Win plugins!" box located on the header. You can also find the link on p81 of CM180.
Deadline is 20/07/2012. Please note that due to competition laws, only US/UK citizens are eligible for entry in CM competitions.
Good luck!

Kriminal old chap, I do believe you might have started something here.
As some KVR'rs might have noticed, we ran a competition recently in th Energy XT forum which was one by haszari btw .
We are working on a new competition. It is low key, but the few members we have are dedicated and work well together. We even have a few devs/sound-designers on board offering prizes. Can't say who they are at the moment. Can't even say when the competition will begin.
It won't be big prizes (well it might be), but soundsets, samples and kudos are the bar we are aiming for really at the moment.
We will probably have Just a winner with a runner up (second prize).
I've seen how quickly things get out of hand when lots of people are giving lots of prizes - organizing registrations etc. It is a surprising amount of work.
Anyway, where do you fellas think the best place would be to put this competition up? This one will be more free form, with a choice of synths (free and paid), DAWs, Fx... etc....
So open to anyone really, where the last one was a bit more specific and strict.
Would this thread itself be a good one to sticky somewhere, tidy it up if needs be, keep it heavily moderated?
We are thinking of setting up a specific domain and site to do a kind of remix-chain, where the winners of the last competition are re-mixed by the entrants from the new competition. It would be a basic but functional site. But then again I am not so sure of the need for it, if we had our very own (heavily moderated) thread here at good ol' KVR.
I say: Sticky this thread. Tidy it up from superfluous guff (especially mine)
And let's have a central base where everyone can check back to from time to time to see the state of play.
It's such a brilliant idea. I surprise myself sometimes. Even if you did think of it Kriminal.
If you think it's a bad idea, then say. We will find somewhere else to put it up. But the competition will go ahead at some point (at KVR). So I think a heavily moderated sticky would make a lot of sense.
In fact the Everything else forum I think would be perfect, we don't have to interfere with talk of instruments, FX, Hosts, etc...
But maybe KVR members could chime in and give their opinion and the Mods could make the final decision.
And of course, the master stroke would be having one central data base of all competitions going, so no hunting around, missing out.
I think you have had a brilliant idea Kriminal. Very synchronous and serendipitous.
Does anyone else have any thoughts or opinions on this?

Just saw the pHz thread:
http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=37557
I was going to add to it. But it's locked.
There are a few more contributors of prizes than you have on this page.
Maybe if you pm me, I will ask them if it is ok to put their name up here.
There's only a few of them. If they say yes, then maybe you could add it to your own thread Rob.
They are mainly offering soundsets, but all are top notch sound designers.
It would be a shame to leave them out, because they all offered stuff without being asked. They didn't have to do that, they are just very generous that's all.
slainte
Edit:
Ooh that is an old thread - nearly 10 years old now. Still, valid as ever!

Someone is doing a competition here:
http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=359154
If I may be so bold:
----------------------------------
The Human Voice
This month you are asked to submit an entry using only the human voice. This can be your own voice or recordings/samples (ONLY those you have the legal right to use). Any and all effects and/or sound manipulation are allowed as long as the source is the human voice.
NOTE: For the purposes of this contest clicks, clucks, pops, etc. made with the mouth are included in the definition of the human voice.
----------------------------------------------
I'll do a link back, and let them know about this thread.
Err...

Now, everyone knows about it!

Thanks, codec_spurt. I deleted your post from the submissions thread, though, because that thread is only for submissions.
