Used to be really good for freeware, but since the summer (last 3-4 months) the site seems to be update just a couple of times per week, and hardly with stuff that hasn't already been featured elsewhere. Nice breaking news about the Grace sampler being set free :tu: But I crave freebies every day :borg:

Vstplanet is also slow... :help:
Hi Numanoid,

I know, things got slower on BPB this summer. It's because I've been writing articles about freeware almost every day for 5+ years (among doing lots of other website related stuff) and got incredibly tired at one point so I really needed a break. I'm getting back to it now and preparing lots of great freebie stuff for the months to come, so stay tuned.

Anyone who appreciates Samsara Cycle's old-style, pile-'em-high approach to SE creation (and has the patience for MediaFire's nonsense) might like to know that, true to his word, he's started releasing his previously donators-only plugins for free.
The first tranche includes Maya, Ananta, Surya Strings, Kaivalya, Punya-X and Mantra v2 - plus one or two others and a bunch of FX.

They are all up now, though the Kaivalya is still in demo mode here. For reasons that I may or may not disclose in future, I will be getting in touch with Chris of Samsara Cycle over the next few days and also to ask him about the demo mode and where the Djembe went.

Oh, and our old friend GM Ortiz has released a couple more plugins, enjoy Day of Pain while you look for them.

I can't get either of the Melodicas.

Here too, but only on XP - Vista's fine (not often I say that!).

MediaFire seems to have taken a dislike to those two, for some reason - it's just made me 'try again' at least a half-dozen times each.
The other new ones, it coughed up at the first time of asking - which I wasn't expecting.

Thank you Syntilla for mentioning this one and also to Samsara for releasing these (very generous).

Bob Bobwood you mentioned you may contact Samsara about "Kaivalya" being a demo, I noticed this as well, never knew about a Djembe being offered that would be cool. If you are still planning on mentioning those, you may want to mention that the 72-EQ, LXM Drum Pad Synth and Rev-B all don't have clickable download links as well, if you want to.

Thanks again guys

"GenieSys" Effects

I have the ones found here....
http://www.silksound.com/geniesys/

I am looking for....
DrumScatter
MIDI Flyser
Swinger
Waltzar
SchizoRAT Pack (BubbleRATor / DistoRATor / FutuRATor / PolyRATor / ZombiRATor)
Smudger
and any others

I love weird stuff like this!
I read somewhere that when the company closed down they made all their products available for free but I have not been able to find them.
I believe the original site was found below, but requires email address in order to download stuff.

If anyone has any ideas please let me know
Thank You

The freeplayer fell. Seems to me that it was never actually released. Write to Saltline about it.

No I never got the SchizoRAT Pack either, site here for looking at; http://wayback.archive.org/web/20030401 ... /index.htm
As they don't seem to have been free, you'll have to make do with demos - some were 3 day demos. Easier to download from here, though not sure which will download but look at the last page here;
http://wayback.archive.org/web/*/http:/ ... voice.com/*
Right click on links and Open in new window, then try the oldest dates you can find first for the links;

MB10Demo.exe (Music Ball v1.0)
RH31SETUP0.EXE (RatHole v3.1)
Shadow12DemoSetup.exe
SmudgerSetup.exe
SWINGERTRIAL.EXE
WALTZARTRIAL.EXE

A little advance notice for anyone not following the thread here:

Hope someone will appreciate this gift.
http://www.kvraudio.com/developer/maxsynths

I first heard Cryologic on the final BIONighT album (Density Waves - due for reissue on BC, I believe), and Mac featured Latte on one of his solo albums.
For anyone who enjoyed Latte Free, the €20 upgrade to the full version felt like a barely-respectable donation.
There's some seriously good stuff coming our way - I just wish I could feel a bit happier about it. There are lots of good reasons for a developer to release free plugins - and Max has released a few in his time - but being squeezed out of the market when your products are as good and as cheap as these isn't one of them.
I hope it won't go too much against the spirit of this thread if I urge everyone to seriously consider making a donation when these instruments start to re-appear.
Max is one of the 'good guys'. And there aren't enough of those still about that we can afford to lose any more of them.

I'm beginning to think Samsara Cycle might be worth a donation, too. Perhaps because there were so many ethnic and sample-based releases, these went largely under my radar. But synths like RMS1 (an RMS2 was mooted - hopefully still on the horizon) and N-Lite-ND v2 are capable, flexible instruments, with a lot more character than most of the payware that's currently fashionable. I was expecting them to be a bit of a novelty, a brief, pleasant diversion - but I could find myself returning to these for some future project. Guess I'd better keep my plastic to hand ...

RITM III has a decent sound to it, too - and there was a picture of a Manual clone that I hope will still get released. Which got me to thinking about what other Soviet era Russian synths have been cloned as freeware.
Syncersoft http://syncersoft.com/index.html also do a Ritm-2 clone - as well as an Estradin 230, an Alisa-1377 and a Polivoks. Those last two are well worth the download, though I can't swear to how authentic they sound (architecturally they're pretty close). But BEWARE the installers - you'll be offered toolbars you'd probably rather be without (if you like these synths, there are better ways to make a donation).
There's also a virtual Aelita available here: http://www.modularsynth.ru/en/sssrlabs/ ... al_aelita/
Not a plugin, but anyone familiar with Artemiev's soundtrack for Tarkovsky's Solaris is sure to be blown away by this virtual ANS: http://www.warmplace.ru/soft/ans/
And I don't know which (if any) actual instruments they were based on, but I was pleased to find some of the Trubia Lab synths are still (again?) available - from SoftRave (those installers again!) http://softrave.blogspot.co.uk/2013/09/ ... -vsti.html - or (without the installers) from v4f: http://www.vst4free.com/index.php?dev=Trubia%20Labs Republica, especially, I think is one of the most criminally underrated VSTIs of all time.
Missing, unfortunately, is the diminutive 1936. Does anyone know if it's still around?
And are there any I've missed?
