That harmonica sound, how do you make it with free synths?

I know he used a CS80 but im not about to buy one or a soft version.

Try the CS80R from Rick Jekliffe or synth 1 and twiddle with the resonance and Filter-Attack, Decay. A wide/long Reverb and smooth delay is very useful. For the real feeling use the Modwheel with a slow LFO-rate and the pitchwheel, where you bend the tone and the end of a note.

Do you by any chance have a patch for Synth1? i suck at sound design.

So please look here on kvr in the "Quick Instrument links" - scoll down to the cs80R from Rick Jeliffe and download it.

wtf, what an ugly gui ...
well, it mimics a cs80, architecture wise, exept the cs80 had poly aftertouch of course...
but it just doesn't reach the originals fatness, the filter is just a plain filter, nor are the osc's sounding somewhere near ...
and for the architecture one has to pay with insane cpu usage ...
well, synthedit again ... :?
however, to get back to the topic:
just do as schiffbauer said.
additional info:
- use pulsewaves (fairily thin pulse width), and slightly detune them.
- use afterouch to increase the loudness with it.
allthough vangelis did this also with volume pedal, you can achive similar results on it.
- use a modulating reverb-tail with it.

listen here (first sound), i did it with albino, taken from my additional soundset for it ...
