Append Multi in the bottom left of the browserjbraner wrote: ↑Mon Mar 06, 2023 4:16 pmAhh OK - I'm going to see if there's a way to save/load just one part of a multi without overwriting the other parts.rasmusklump wrote: ↑Mon Mar 06, 2023 4:02 pm Sorry, I meant the saving of a multi. That's how I do it in Falcon as well, that's why I don't miss a thing here...

Thanks - that is very handy!
There is no way of just saving one part of a multi - is there?
I guess I can make some presets one at a time, save them, then load them by appending to whatever is already there.
This is way less than ideal - but it's something.
I was thinking to make some presets that are similar to each other, to alternate between - so the loops are a little less repetitive. (maybe someday we can use longer sequences to make two bars worth of 1/16 notes?)
Is there a reason that we can't save/load presets - whether in Percussion Factory or "parts" in UVI Workstation?
I'm also thinking - maybe it's easier to just keep the presets "generic" and add little extra bits here and there with single hits (MIDI notes).
This is a good plugin, but I'm trying to make it a little more usable. (for me anyway...)

This is all too awkward. Even if you go through the trouble of saving "1 part" multis, they all load with the names of the preset they're based on, and they all sat "part 1 " in the top left pull down menu.
I guess the workflow is just:
- load a preset
- edit it how you want it
- use single hit MIDI notes to make changes to it (maybe combined with automated decimate)
- or export to MIDI and skip the shakers etc
- maybe load the same preset in a couple of parts and edit them a little differently in each. (to get some variety)
How are other people using it?
EDIT: Also, when you load a 1 part multi (that you've saved) the correct multi name appears in the "multi" tab, but not in the "main" tab. The "main" tab shows the edited preset name for the multi. This will only end in tears - as it's not even straightforward to see what you've got loaded.

I haven't decided yet. But I was noticing that the step divisions function has not been covered in any demos. This seems like a very powerful feature. I'm wondering how it relates to the "circular" representations, as in... if you have 3 divisions set for a particular step with the velocity only turned up for the 3rd subdivision, is that step still indicated in the circular sequencer but sounds as an offset (the same as in the linear sequencer representation)? And I suppose when you decimate it might disappear but then reappear when you wind back on decimate.

<feature request>
Another thing that would be really useful would be the ability to store different "states" of the plugin. So, you could have different sequences (and maybe articulations) and store them in "A" "B" "C" and "D" - then switch between these states with keyswitches.
That would add so much more flexibility to the sequences.
Maybe this will appear someday?

I just got this in an email from UVI support.
This is really good news!>>Then if we could save this as a preset – we would have a monster plugin!

OK... I purchased at the last minute and I need something verified.
I can't get MIDI CC control over anything. I can right click the parameters that are supposed to allow for CC control and they will learn a CC but they do not respond to value changes from a controller.

Which CC number are you using ?
Does it works with the Modwheel for example ?
Which parameter are you trying to use for example ?
Thanks !

I tried global decimate on CC#12 and the modwheel.
It does just what kvrmao says - it "learns" the CC# but then using any controller - has no effect on the parameter.
I was able to use host automation on global decimate - but as I said before, it is completely useless. Reaper grinds to a halt and the sound is strangled. I was automating a smooth line from 100% (no decimate) up to some decimation. I think that is a reasonable way to do it. I was thinking that maybe this control has to move in discreet steps? (I haven't tried that)
Is this what you get kvrmao?

If we can get the MIDI control to work - what (besides decimate) are the things that we'd want to control - to create variations in the loops?
I think this is really important - as we don't want to just repeat the same loop over and over...

I tried a bunch of CC values on a bunch of different parameters. CC01 was one I didn't try but none of the ones I did try had any effect on the parameters that learned the CC.

I use Cantabile as my playground host and Ableton Live as my DAW but haven't tried using host automation though I don't want to have to go that route anyway. CC learn should work - It does in other UVI libraries.jbraner wrote: ↑Thu Mar 09, 2023 11:02 am I tried global decimate on CC#12 and the modwheel.
