Dang, Valhalla Vintage Verb is just great. Just randomly chose a preset and twiddled a few knows and the shitty pad I had made suddenly sounded like a shitty pad with awesome reverb.
At the very least, these sort of threads often throw up either a few left field suggestions which may point someone to an effect they wouldn't normally encounter, or you get a rough consensus through multiple users mentioning the same product. It's not the best way to choose- clearly, demoing a product is better- but it's by no means a bad way to choose products to demo.
