When it comes to the sound that is Jazz/Jazz fusion he is one of the masters. I can hear his influences in many other guitarists. Sad to realize he passed in 2017 RIP Allan you master of your craft.

For me, it's not about any of that. Allan and Jeff Beck are the only two guitarists who could consistently make me either giggle or weep. The solo on "The 4:15 Bradford Executive", for instance, leaves me sobbing every single time. (And Phil Keaggy, for those who might know him, agrees, but for him it's "Devil Take the Hindmost".)
