I will now have to give up coffee. :scared:

Wow. That random feature (dice) looks cool.
You can, say, choose 'bass' sounds, hit the dice, and it will load a bass sound from all of your synths you have in Unify. If you hit 'load as a layer' it will ADD another bass patch to what you're playing.
Go to 6:30 on the video above to see it in action:

could someone explain why are these unified libraries big in size?
for example the phase plant unified lib is around 75 MB, and the gratis is around 100 MB. IMHO these are just presets... , so why?

Post

It’s been a long time since I’ve thought of 100 MB as big and my first computer had 1K of RAM.
I don’t know those libraries, but some libraries can include samples to use with Guru Sampler and there are some image assets that accompany the library thumbnail so it’s not always just text data.

Are you safe?

unify stores the plug-in state not the source presets. maybe phase plant needs a lot of state data.

Ok.... Just downloaded the new unified lib of tone2 icarus. This is more than 800 MB.
The plugin itself is also around 800 MB. So installing the unified library, takes extra space - another 800 MB, on my hard drive. I don't really like this....

It’s probably why Unify can load in presets so quickly. And 800MB is nothing these days.

Of course this duplication can be OK when you compare it with the "crappy" Komplete Kontrol solution of storing miriads of ogg files just to provide sound previews immediately.

When a Unified library is created, Unify queries the plugin for each preset, the plugin reports the current plugin state to Unify, which gets saved in each Unify preset.

Each plugin goes about this differently, so it's up to their dev. Some have more preset data and some have less data.

I am probably just forgetting something here, but can't Unify set up wave sequencing? I just was checking out Korg's Wavestate which looks really cool and thought, I think Unify can do something like this.

Yes it can. If you look at the Unify Standard Library and search for presets ending in (WS) you will find 11 of them. It uses Polybox to achieve this and you can make your own in the same way.

That’s a great tip, thanks!!

Plugin Guru just updated "Del Norte EDM/Chill with a great intro price. He also showed how to control via MIDI multiple layers in Unify. Very cool.

Yep, it is really cool!

Here are the details for those who are interested:

Available for only $29 until May 1st! Del Norte EDM Chill for Unify will then be $39 until May 8th. Retail is $49.

This special $29 Price is the best I can offer as an upgrade price for everybody that has a previous version of Del Norte. The added BPM and other programmed patches beyond the original sample patches are 100% original creations by John Lehmkuhl with 22 Patches by Huston Singletary.

242 inspiring patches using these wonderful samples I created on my Access virus TI 2 while spending 4 days in the Redwoods in 2017. This library only requires UNIFY 1.8 to work! New to this version of the library (It is also available for Omnisphere 2 and Kontakt 5/6): MIDIBox Groove files are used all over the place. The BPM PLUCK Patches are mind blowing because you have a knob (#8) that can cycle thru 18 different MIDI Files in real-time to vary the pattern. Also, every regular patch (the ATTACK patches are not included) has a photograph of mine connected to it – simply click the Library Artwork box and the entire interface of Unify is replaced with a photograph taken either in the Redwoods or on my photo outings here in Oregon / Washington. It’s really fun to finally merge art and music in a unique way!

I had to reinstall a bunch of my music software from scratch, including Unify, so now I have the latest version -1.8 on my PC. I wasn't sure if it was always like this, but some of the Unified presets work right off the bat, but I thought I'd have to scan for the plugins that are installed (or something similar) for Unify to know I had E.g. Sylenth installed. I just clicked on ARP 1985 Dav&Len2 and it worked right away.

Did I not get the memo about that, or am I just forgetting something?
I'm just a little confused why it worked with no fuss at all, but it's great at the same time. :)
I must have downloaded the Unified Sylenth1 library at some point, but thought it wouldn't work if I had totally unistalled/reinstalled, etc. I am guessing that library file was in a different spot than the install of Unify itself so it wasn't removed.
