PwrCabs - this really makes the difference, you could try a demo, and it's on sale for Easter.

N4Player (free) might as well try the other freebies, like mic pres, spring reverb, EQ and compressors, while you're there.

I prefer this to Tonex. Closer to a Kemper, which I have access to.

What NAM profiles would you recommend? I haven’t had good luck with the ones I’ve found.

On Linux at the moment, DAW is on Windows. I'd have reboot to open yesterday's sessions to find out, the last good one was a Orange capture, I'll post later.

I'd start with those who create commercial offerings, like Tone Junkies.

Gonna have to get a thread up for bread and butter captures for NAM.
20 captures should cover most scenarios with drive, modulation and FX as an addition.

Forum users could supply some DI guitar tracks for testing, me included.
Clean
Break up
Drive
Distortion
Lead

Ommmmg the Helix lt is badass. Just plugged it in about an hour ago and tried out some presets. The sound quality that comes out of Helix *smokes* that of GR7, but I havent tried Helix Native (their software plugin version of Helix) so I dont know how that is. The pedal itself sounds *fantastic*, and this is coming from a family that also has a couple real amps in the room. This is great!!

Helix Native sounds identical.

Reminding myself that listening devices vary greatly, input levels and cab/IR can make huge differences, so personal testing with a variety of such things will be lucky. My favorite is the
BlueCat Axiom suite. It's packed with great extras, and hosts 3rd party 64 bit plugins. I also like the convenience of Fender usb modeling amps, and my NUX Mighty Plug with Apple earbuds for maximum portability. The newer Boss Katana-Go is sold out many places, a newer entry in the Mighty Plug market for tiny gear with app support.
Cheers
