Which file formats support labels and regions?

Does anyone know which formats will save the labels and regions embedded in the file? So far it looks like AIFF will do it, but do any of the compressed formats support this metadata?

Standard .wav files have the most comprehensive metadata support. AIFF, WAVE and WAVE64 all support labels and regions. I'm afraid that none of the compressed formats supports this.
