I wonder, I tried some new freeware eq's and I keep coming back to this oldschool vst,
Has it really any audio quality drawbacks that I do not know about ?
In terms of is it ok to still use it in 2016?
I do like some new freeware eq's , but I do not find any of them working for me as this one.
Is it really better to switch to soneq or slickeq etc?
I feel a little bit insecure here.

It's a bit obsolete and graphic EQs are not so useful in mix... Try a parametric EQ like these:
http://sonimus.com/products/soneq/
http://www.mellowmuse.com/EQ1A.html
Otherwise look at these sites...

http://www.vst4free.com/index.php?plug-ins=EQ
By the way, favors your workflow!

This. It goes for every other plugin/instrument/piece of hardware.chk071 wrote:If it's working for you, and you find that other EQ's do the job worse, why not just stick to it?
Might as well close KVR down now.

Either of these free graphic eqs might do it:

Changing to another EQ will give you good karma.
How about luftikus? https://www.kvraudio.com/product/luftikus-by-lkjb

I like the luftikus EQ, but, I have to say that it's not as smooth as some. I especially like Soundtoys Sie-Q, despite the slight DC-offset problem. Of course, the Soundtoys EQ is not free any more, but it's a damn nice broad EQ.How about luftikus? https://www.kvraudio.com/product/luftikus-by-lkjb
