I'm on Linux 64 bit and I wonder if the presets that come with the linux archive can be loaded in some way. Any hints?
Did you try to drag and drop the patches over the plug-in GUI? If your DAW doesn't have a menu that allows you to open plug-in patches, it's the only alternative I can remember.
Nope, I think the fxb/fxb stuff is handled by the DAW itself and Ardour 5.4 doesn't allow drag and drop fxp. Thanks anyway,

To use .fxp presets in qtractor daw,
menu View-->Options-->Plugins tab

On the Plugins panel, untick

'Open plugin's editor (GUI) by default'

restart qtractor, load obxd on a midi track,
the vanilla gui will appear, with a file requestor
in the upper-left, to browse for .fxp folders.
About 80 synth controls are available as sliders,
grouped under 4 Page tabs.

.fxb banks can be expanded to .fxp collections
(and vice-versa) with an old windoze app called
Minihost

Two other things, I don't know if that file selector
window can be pinned open in some QT setting?

edit: :dog: to change between the real gui and the vanilla
qtractor gui, just press the 'edit button on the upper-right
of the default gui panel. If I'd have needed the vanilla gui before,
I might have put 2+2 tpgether sooner

Using Carla as the plugin host, it's also just a click or two,
to switch between them.

Until a preset/bank handler is coded into obxd,
I'll just use the windows version in wine/reaper.

I'll commit to buying D Pro or Corona if George
codes that preset/bank capability!
Maybe a few dozen purchases would help
cover the coding hours? I'm clueless in that area.
But I like how presets/banks are
handled in D Pro.

Cheers

I think ardour can load a plugin version of Carla,
which in turn could host obxd. Might be the easier way
to access presets for now.

I think that's a good question.

Exactly which presets work for he new DiscoDSP version? I have an older version of OBXD... and all of the presets work fine. If I get the new version will all of those presets still work? BTW... I don't know which version this is, there have been so many revisions.
I read more than post = I listen more than I talk

I installed the new reaper 5.27, in .wine, in a portable install,
and added the new obxd. I've tried a few dozen among 830 .fxp files,
and they've all worked.

So far so good :hyper:

Thanks for this great synth. Two questions:

1. Can Obxd load scala files, for microtuning? (As ZynAddSubFX can.)
2. Can Obxd be tuned to A=432Hz, for example?

Not for now ;)

Dear George,

Could you possibly add...
1) A built in Arpegiator ?
2) A Random patch generator feature ?

I think the host can provide that.

I think to get rid of that skin mess the skin file should be in one folder with vsti dll.
And Thanks, George, for catching-up the semi-dying project.

You're welcome. Skinning will be enhanced, but we need to add a FXB bank browser first 8)

It was probably mentioned already, but the new(er) version uses more CPU than the old one, when you play the same patch. Any idea why? I also discovered that the CPU goes up if nothing is selected in the Modulation field (new version).
