it's not about tweaking it's about integrating the best practices from other DAWs (which needs tweaking :D ) and adding the missing things like track height locking ( http://stash.reaper.fm/v/24954/ReaVertical%20Zoom.zip ) , the last big thing which is missing (beside melodyne integration) is the automation clips BUT

so fingers crossed

one more thing, the multi-track(pattern) MIDI drum editor can be found here > http://nizzei8q.bget.ru/sower/index.php

I really dislike having to tweak - just now I changed the colour of the item envelopes because one of them cannot be seen against the item background - that's ridiculous to have to do that. Similarly for the scrollbars being pretty much the same colour as the background. Stuff like that should not be in a release (or at least not for long)

But I have decided I will stick with Reaper and that means lots of tweaking over the next few weeks. If that doesn't work in that sort of time frame than I'll have to revisit getting Logic and a Mac

reaper is fantastik if you take the time to customise it for your need, with some scripts and shortcut, the midi editor is powerfull- for my need -and i come from flstudio and in the past from logic.

yepp definitely there are some very useful script, like the pattern MIDI note selector

When i tried it the midi take system split any recorded overlapping notes, not good.
Midi cc´s are a pain too, reacontrolmidi can alleviate this but not if your routing to hardware (i couldn´t manage to get envs and notes to align unless i shifted the notes).

To align envelope points with notes, the action "SWS/BR Fit selected envelope points to time selection" is very useful: First select the notes with which you want to align the envelope, run "Set time selection to selected notes", and then run the SWS action.

In the MIDI editor, pre-existing CC curves can be aligned to notes in a similar way, or new CC curves can be inserted precisely below notes using the LFO Tool.

Thanks for the suggestion, my issue was not wether it aligns graphically but if reaper manages to send out notes and CCs (created by rcm) aligned. Devs apparently have fixed a lot of stuff with reainsert, from the logs i couldn´t see this particular issue fixed though. And i´m far to happy with bitwig then to test this again, i´ve spent quite some time trying to get this to work and in the end resorted to shifting the notes off the grid (which leads to a different set of problems).
