Hi

Looking for a Simple Minds Don't You Forget About Me OPX synth brass sound. Have tried to put on together but really thin, so could do with a sound design to help!

Anybody out there got a patch for the OPX-Pro II they could share.

gonna need more than opx. that sound was a mixture of synths and guitars.

I will check it out later today. There has to be something similar to that sound from the many presets they have available for it.

Actually that sound was just a single keyboard. There is a chucka guitar (Strat) in the background, but the synth stabs are just one board. But it is heavily chorused, delayed (you can hear a slight echo with each hit, right to left) and reverbed (with a short release) to death.

So it is possible your "thin" sound is exactly what is needed. Just add the proper effects in the mix.

Without listening to every preset Peter has included, if you tweek the "Abba Polymoog Brass" preset, it can sound similar to the chorus section. You have to give it a fast attack, and modify it a bit more here or there, but it's not a bad stand-in for that sound.

and layer it with a U2ish chiming guitar because you want it to sound just like it, right?

Yes...but to get the EXACT sound just listen to 1:41-1:50, and that will give you what the SYNTH sounds like...which is what he was asking. If he wants tips to produce it, then we can kick in with the guitar suggestion
