To answer this thread ..yes, worth it. BUT there's an issue with the licencer so you have to re-authorize every once and a while. I haven't read all the comments but maybe someone else has mentioned that too.
This happens when your MAC address changes...your plugins identify your computer as a new machine and require re-authorization.
If this happens to you I suggest you re-authorize and enter new codes rather than your original ones. This problem is related to network, particularly mobile or wireless broadband but you can fix it if your computer is not connected as I have just done today.

I will also add mono/poly has one of the most unique filters of any vst. Its kinda like a comb filter but with more band depth where it's resonant's distortion squeals.

IMO, while definitely cool and more flexible than the hardware, the VST MS-20 does not sound that much like the hardware MS-20.
I would even say that that Diva actually nails it a lot better.
That said, still really cool.

That's what i always was thinking, when i was owning the plugin version, and listenting to sound demos of the real thing on Youtube. The real MS-20 sounds more juicy, has more punch. The plugin version's oscillators sound quite toyish, it doesn't have a lot of beef, and the filters are screamy, and squeaky, but not very juicy. Anyway, not a big fan of the MS-20 anyway, but i found the plugin version pretty lacking compared to what i could hear from sound demos of the real MS-20.seamoss wrote:IMO, while definitely cool and more flexible than the hardware, the VST MS-20 does not sound that much like the hardware MS-20.

Exactly no match at all, I own both including the variants of Volcas, Monotrons and the Monotribe. The hardware still have their own modjo. But it's great to own the software version with an exact interface as the hardware. If they improved the quality with current standard, I might even get the MS-20 controller just because I'm so used to the keyboard version. Another MS-20 inspired synth that I enjoy is Basic by Audio Damage, it has that certain charm of the synth. Also the Korgasmatron II filter module of the Softube Modular, which sounds really great. But for me nothing can beat the real one.chk071 wrote:The real MS-20 sounds more juicy, has more punch.

Any advice for getting legacy cell 64 vst to show up? I can see the dll in the vst folder alongside the others but it doesn't show in Ableton 9. Some discussion on the Korguser forums but nothing that helps.

I hope Roland would do a plug-out of the SR-JV80-line.

I know that sale is over, but I wanted to mention that, for everyone who said "i love the Legacy collection except for the tiny GUIs"... Well, here's a thread I started on Korg's support site that requests exactly that. If you don't have an account, create one. They have been known to respond with "thank you, we will discuss this with the developers" and there's even a VOTE option so you can just +1 a post without having to create your own comment/message. This is a place to tell Korg what you like and dislike, and there's barely anyone actively posting over there.
