Hello,
Does anybody know if it is possible set up MidiKeySwitcher (http://4drx.com/plugins/midikeyswitcher/) as a AU Midi Effect in Logic Pro X as we did for Cubase or Reaper?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SW9FyLyeOQA (Reaper)
Basically the plugin should read from midi input hardware(easy) and route its output midi to several tracks (tricky part, maybe with the environment?) with a filter for different channels(easy with our other plugin MidiFilterChannel).
We would give you a free license for our 2 plugins(MidiKeySwitcher & LoopRecorder) if you kindly helped us with a step-by-step video for Logic Pro X...
Thanks!

AU plugins in Logic don't support MIDI output. Even MIDI plugins on an instrument channel will only output to the instrument, the MIDI won't be able to get "out" of the system.4drX wrote:Basically the plugin should read from midi input hardware(easy) and route its output midi to several tracks (tricky part, maybe with the environment?) with a filter for different channels(easy with our other plugin MidiFilterChannel).
What you could do is use the loopback approach, where in your plugin you send MIDI directly (ie internally) to either the IAC bus, or a newly created virtual MIDI port in your plugin. As Logic receives MIDI from all MIDI inputs, it will get this MIDI, and you can route it using the environment or whatever just like any other incoming MIDI.

Thanks much beely. We were afraid this would be the case but we wanted to hear from an experienced Logic user to reassure us... We will remove the AU version until we have the chance to implement output to the IAC bus.beely wrote: AU plugins in Logic don't support MIDI output. You're welcome!
MIDI out from AU plugins in Logic is a much requested feature, but doesn't seem to be high on Apple's priority list, unfortunately...
