Hello,
We are very pleased to announce that Peavey released the long anticipated ACT Combo, a ReValver 4 add-on module capable of analyzing the
gain/distortion and frequency content of a guitar amplifier recording and then replicating the analyzed sound as an amplifier/ cab combo simulation.
Here's a video that displays ACT Combo in action:

In addition, Peavey also released ACT Rack, a smart EQ cloning/matching module, suitable for both instruments and mixes

I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.

Neat to see ReValver getting more love in 2016. Not sure how much use I'd get out of the amp cloning function but I do love a great sounding amp sim.

that looks like Revalver is encroaching into Kemper territory. i'll surely test it out.

Im wondering if this can still be used without an amp, but with a .wav file. I can get tons of amp stems, but obviously not tons of amps lol. It looks a bit confusing to use. Im hoping some user presets, and third party presets will be made available soon. This could be a gem. Maybe....Not enough tutorials/demos for me to tell yet

Actually I'm a bit confused now. There is the ACT Combo and the ACT Rack. Are both needed? Just wondering exactly what the ACT Combo brings to the table.

Got to try this out quickly with a boss GT5 preset (rocking that vintage gear haha)
Lot of noise whenever I plug my interface into the pedal but I haven't even begun to troubleshoot that yet. Thankfully revalver does a noise pass for phase cancellation so it's no problem in the model.

Signal chain - Boss GT5 (with cabinet model) - Ashdown bass practice amp (MP3 input) - zoom H1 (mono out)
So definitely much less than Ideal but I have no XLRs on hand and even then I only have an AT2020 available.
So impressed though, not necessarily with the tone, but with how close the model is, and how it plays.

That sounded pretty close. I can't tell a difference. My results here were much different. Were you using the ACT Cab or Rack?

Using the Combo.
You need to make sure you delete the cab simulator module if it populates with ACT Combo.

I tested this thoroughly using .wav files. It blows away Bias Amp no question for modeling the source material. However, you have to be careful with the source material you want to use. Raw amp sounds with a cab are best, and make sure there are no effects in the chain of your source material. Pulling from youtube is a bad idea, because there will be bad artifacts. I have a Laney IRT that I used, and the match was dead on, with the exception of the obvious tube chunk that you get from a tube amp when you palm mute. Thats the downfall of all amp sims to date. Crappy palm mute chunks that sounds weak compared to tube amps. The ACT combo however, is pretty damn sick if you ask me
