At the moment I'm absolutely happy with my good old M-Audio Delta1010. But I'm going to make the move to Windows 10, and there are no drivers for Win10 as the card is "legacy".
So what's the best (and affordable) solution today for Windows 10? I need 8 analogue inputs and at least 3 analogue outputs, low-latency ASIO-driver and that's it. Either PCIe or USB will do (19' rack preferred).
Is there a solution by RME, as I hear so much good talking about them. I visited their site, but it ws confusing...
What I find was
- another 8in/8out by M-Audio
- something by Steinberg/Yamaha
- Focusrite
Thanks for any hint.

I have recently been looking for pretty much the same (in a rack format). this is what i have found (within a reasonable price range):
-behringer umc 1820
https://www.music-group.com/Categories/ ... 20/p/P0B2J
-tascam 16x08
http://tascam.com/product/us-16x08/
unfortunately esi 1808 is discontinued.
in purely 8ins department I could not find anything, which stands out (considering value for money).

i would say the above ticks of "best" requirement, however not necessarily "affordable".metamorphosis wrote:Try MOTU as well.
having said that, what is your budget OP?

oh well, so we have different understanding of word "affordable"
anyway, with that sort of money why not go for Steinberg stuff, drivers are supported well, they come with latency free fx'es (dsp), 2 digital ins/outs etc

I sold my 1010 a few months ago but I had it running on Windows 10.
Drivers are available.

I stand corrected.Dr.Future wrote:No, unfortunately there are NO OFFICIAL drivers for the legacy 1010.
It must have been Windows 7 drivers I used I guess (never had Win8) and didn't notice any difference in performance.

I agree with MOTU for that requirement, it's worth finding the extra 10 euros for the MOTU Ultralite AVBDr.Future wrote:budget:

If you can find a second-hand ESI ESP1010 or ESP1010e... there's drivers available for these cards for Win10, even though the cards themselves are since long out of production. Big kudos to ESI for keeping up the support. Such a pity ESI doesn't feature any card with that I/O count anymore in their current catalogue...
I still use an ESI/Audiotrak Maya1010 from way back, and their drivers were always quite impressive. Especially their DirectWIRE patch panel that lets you patch for example WDM outputs to ASIO inputs.
