u want a vocoder but u need two audio tracks to make it work one track is the modulator the other is called the carrier

so one track is a voice or sample
the other is a usually synth audio track

the vocoder will output the voice as if it was made by a robot.
some vocoders can have an internal synth so u can skipp the synth track

personnally i prefer zynaptic(prosoniq) orange vocoder(mac only)

Most DAWS have a Vocoder plugin already.

did u want to play a vocoder live or just in the studio ?

I use MVocoder for robot voices. But I want some monster voices

Bumping this up for suggestions on plugs for robot voices, a la the very-missed Spectron. Perhaps I should upgrade to the full AlterBoy?

checkout Ircam Trax...its very expensive but its the best a transforming voices
