As for Librarian software;
You could take a look at Midi Quest:
https://www.squest.com/
This tool supports a lot of the older synths.

Just be warned. I used this as a VST and while most parameters working some does not. And using this as a VST was plain nightmare. I reported that to developer three years ago but nothing changed.Krezie wrote:As for Librarian software;

While working standalone it was much greater experience i can recall.

I don't know how Midi Quest works as a VST, and yes, it certainly isn't cheap. So if you're in for this tool a good demo/try out is adviced to check if it's what you expect. As far as I know the software has (very) limited demo functionality.
There are a few editions of this software with different pricetags.
For some older synths there might be floating some older freeware Librarians on the net... Google does miracles here

Give me one example for old Roland synths. Except the Roland XV editor..Krezie wrote:I don't know how Midi Quest works as a VST, and yes, it certainly isn't cheap. it's work. but,
Ctrlr is pretty good. it's getting to a stage where it's quite straightforward.
you're a bit stumped at first, he could make it visually easier and quicker,
but it's all there, you don't have to make graphics unless you want to;
probably best free option for editing the 'big' synths.

There was a 1080 editor but last I checked, CTRLR still had no preset system.Dewdman42 wrote:Is there an existing editor for the 5080 in ctrl format?

i have a JV 1080 arriving (hopefully Friday) from ebay, and while searching for resources I found this:
http://www.rolandjv.com/download.asp
Has editors for JV 1080 / 2080 and one for XP?
Cannot comment on the editor as I haven't tried it yet. I think there may still be a cost for a full version.
