Just got the information at Facebook that Izotope drop the price of Iris to 149 € and said: it is the new price.
Maybe a reaction of the release of Alchemy inside Logic Pro or what do you think

FB: Heads up: Iris 2 is now available at a new, lower price. Get yours!

Izotope has changed the price of a number of their products recently. Trash 2 + expansions is MSRP $99 now. That's a huge reduction.

Interesting strategy.

$30 off. See the tile at the bottom of the Bitwig homepage: http://www.bitwig.com/en/bitwig-studio.html

Anyhow, as reported in market place, users can pick up Iris2 for half price (of old price) at ongoing sale here: http://www.timespace.com/productlist/3/ ... index.html

For those not having to pay VAT (outside EU), the price is lower than what is offered by Bitwig.

Now we're talking!

It's not like I'm going to buy it right now, but at least can consider it when I have spare money. Previous price (250 USD?) was out of reach.

Also, first post reads 149 euro while in the store it says 149 dollars, which is a big difference.

Interesting strategy.
A better strategy might actually include bug fixes and feature enhancements.

That's why none of the existing owners have been biting on their stuff.
My main tools: Kontakt, Omnisphere, Samplemodeling + Audio Modeling. Akai VIP = godsend. Tari's libraries also rock.

Just saw Stutter Edit discounted at 99 USD (from 249), which is certainly interesting offer.

With lower price, more users will buy the stuff, that means there will be more users that can demand fixes/enhancements.

You should be happy :)

Yeah, but will they also cut the regular price of that?

I mean, if they cut $100 of the Iris2 asking price, will they continue to sell Stutter Edit at $249 after the sale is over?

Regrettably, requests for fixes and enhancements result in new major versions or new plugins, not in .point updates.

A few days ago I saw this article
http://theaudiospotlight.com/izotope-se ... uct-focus/

That outlines iZotope's future direction. I haven't seen any official statements about this and no one other than this web site seems to have covered this. It seems to leave out Stutter Edit/Iris/Breaktweaker from the future plans.

These price changes seem pretty consistent with them killing off these content products. I wonder if they will end sales of these products entirely?

So you think lowering the price is also sort of a ploy to get users to buy into it, and then a couple of months down the line it's gonna be Iris3 and Trash3, homerun for upgrade money?
