Hi, I'm newbie of KVR, and I'm hungry to learn new stuff about synthesizers!
Here's the synth vsts I've been using.
Albino 3, Synthmaster, Absynth, imposcar
I was mainly using Absynth standalone for practicing chords, but there's no sufficient sounds for me to play. For example, there's no smooth nylon guitar sound in Absynth.
So I'm finding the best standalone synth vst for practicing chord progressions. vst containing smooth nylon sounds should be extra better. Plz Hlp!

Not a synth but, I'd say you want Kontakt.

Or even Independence Free. It has a good standalone version and guitars.
Synth wise you probably want a String one like String Studio (AAS) or Sakura (Image Line). I don't know about them standalone though, as I only use Sakura in a host.
The other choice is a sample manipulation synth. I still use Alchemy on PC. I think you can still get a copy of the CM version (which is a preset player only) from the Computer Music vault, but you may need to get a back issue.

I miss MindPrint. My TRIO needs a big brother.

I forgot to mention Morphine (Image Line), again I'm not sure about a standalone but it is a very good synth for emulating instruments.

Wow! First I thought Sakura's only 10MB big, so I didn't expect anything, but this synth is really good, especially the string part. thx!khanyz wrote: Synth wise you probably want a String one like String Studio (AAS) or Sakura (Image Line). They have also Syntorial which I think is a part of Primer. I don't know much else about it.
