Looking for a tapestop effect

I'm looking for a tape stop effect, which plugins can achieve good results? I know of Vengeance Tapestop and it sounds amazing (more than just Tapestop), but I don't use this effect often, so I'm looking for an alternative.

If you have Max4Live then this works perfectly: http://www.maxforlive.com/library/device.php?id=217
If you have Reaktor then this works well too: http://twistedtools.com/shop/reaktor/buffeater/

dblue TapeStop works on 32-bit Windows systems (and presumably with a bridge).

If you're using Windows and don't mind 32bit plugs then Woks DC14 entry, brakeback mangler, could be worth a try. A lot simpler than Tapestop by the look of things but could be enough for what you need. Has a nifty delay and reverse effect too.

Thanks for all the suggestions.
I'm downloading dblue as we speak.
Regarding WOK's plugins, apparently there's no way to get them anymore? he completely removed his online presence. is there still a way to get them?

If you donate you will receive a link to 44 plugins.
BTW: The link to brakeback mangler still works here on KVR. Just click on the link GaryG
provided (http://www.kvraudio.com/product/brakeba ... ler-by-wok) and then click where it says Downloads.
I also found this on vst4free: http://vst4free.com/free_vst.php?plugin ... !_&id=1865

Vengeance's VPS Tape Stop is fantastic... but I understand your reservations with it. Glitch2 and Effectrix both have a good tape stop (plus lots of other goodies). So, if VPS Tape Stop isn't an option, I'd definitely go with one of those.

they are not really efficient at it but u coukld check out those glitch buffer FXSuloo wrote:something free for mac isn't available right? Couldn't find at least..
like these
http://destroyfx.smartelectronix.com/
but you'll need a 32 bit to 64 bit adapter
i use 32 lives
Also checkout the stuff in Computer music Magazine
Havent really tried but Eurodyce CM might do what it is u want to do with a little tweaking
Also checkout Doppler dome,
http://aegeanmusic.com/doppler-dome-Specs
with some teaking of the graphic and the Pitch scale knob with ''bounce loop'' u can do tapestop-ish fx with the wet signal
If u downloaded SFX rt Machine when they were offering it for free awhile back you just have to go to the pitch-shift section
even better would be to load the audio of a track as a sample in a sampler and setting the pitch envelope
Also try a pitch-shifter with an automation envelope in your DAW, nothing beats those 2 approches in terms of control
if all fails search the Reaktor Libraries on NI's website
or
If your plugin is a Synth-edit/synth-maker creation, Say So.

If you use Logic then you can achieve a perfect tape stop effect using the fades in pitch modeSuloo wrote:something free for mac isn't available right? Couldn't find at least..

I once thought I had mono for an entire year. It turned out I was just really bored...
