I don't know if you're not familiar with TAL at all or just not the reverb, but you should check out their stuff if you haven't yet: http://kunz.corrupt.ch/homewagtunes wrote: Also like the FX you used. All 3rd party or did some come with your DAW? I am familiar with these two.

Limiter No. 6
The rest, not so much.
A lot of good solid free plugins, I'll probably use at least one of them each OSC, I have so far. Also I'm a big fan of the Noisemaker synth, which had its own OSC back before I knew about all this (wish I had known for that one!)
lol my first post here was for my february track too. And when I was almost finished with like a day left I noticed that bit about 40 posts and panicked for a minute there....mehum wrote:No, just if you want to vote without participating. Hi all,
Just to let you know of a little tweak. I have re-panned the main instruments and their reverb busses, so it sounds a little less "mono-ised" on headphones (was not so apparent on monitors!).
DR is now 10 - so should please a few here!!!
Also, as per usual SC has squished the dynamics something awful , so if you can, please download the mp3 - and I think it sounds best LOUD (but that might be these ancient old ears!!! ).
Please enjoy and think of Philae.

My advice would be to never upload MP3 to Soundcloud. What will happen is that it will go through an extra MP3 conversion to get to Soundcloud's format and in order to do that to an already psycho-acoustically treated file it has to be much more aggressive to reach 128kbps than if you go from a WAV or FLAC.doctorbob wrote:Hi all,

There's no compressor involved in the conversion so if you think the dynamics have changed it's probably that the transients have been somewhat destroyed in the double encoding.

I actually have a number of the free TAL VSTs and really like them. I just wasn't aware of the FX. Will definitely check them out. Thanks.actioncat wrote:I don't know if you're not familiar with TAL at all or just not the reverb, but you should check out their stuff if you haven't yet: http://kunz.corrupt.ch/homewagtunes wrote: Also like the FX you used. Sometimes it's OK, but generally I agree, mp3 decoded and then re-encoded to 128 destroys the transients. Going to upload the "wav" file as I am not sure everyone who downloads can play FLAC (which I would prefer!).mehum wrote: My advice would be to never upload MP3 to Soundcloud. PS Done, wav uploaded and the SC track is orders of magnitude better sounding!!!doctorbob wrote:Sometimes it's OK, but generally I agree, mp3 decoded and then re-encoded to 128 destroys the transients. Finally updating my submission for final-master:
Original idea composed within 24h, "Pulsardodger" (Former name: "Buried Alive") is a Drum & Bass track
now using 22 ( used to be just 18 ) instances of PG8X, composed, mixed & mastered in RENOISE
And guys, I fell in love with this synthesizer.
Simple, yet effective for not only useful 80s sounds as somebody has mentioned before
especially if you layer the lead-synth with 3 instances of this beast!
https://soundcloud.com/skelpolu/skelpolu-pulsardodger
Internal FX:
+7x Gainer for gain-controlling
+3x Gainer for Sidechaining
+10x Filter for frequencysculpting unnoticable frequencies
+3x Filter for transition-sweeps
+2x Stereo X for reducing the width of some instruments
+7x EQ 5
+2x Distortion (Soft saturation, replacement for heavy EQing)
+2x Exciter
+4x mpReverb
+3x Delay
External FX:
+5x TDR Feedback Compressor II (Peak reduction)
+2x TDR Feedback Compressor II (More attack)
1x Limiter6 (former limiter: 1 W1 Limiter)
Get yo' subwoofers out, 's time for some Drum & Bass!

Okay, I gotta ask. How did you get such a solid kick out of this thing? Mine sounds like silly putty on a hot summer day.Skelpolu wrote:Finally updating my submission for final-master:

Excellent! I think Jasinski has some serious competition this month. LOL.

Hey ho,wagtunes wrote:Okay, I gotta ask. How did you get such a solid kick out of this thing? Mine sounds like silly putty on a hot summer day.
The kick is 3-way-layered. Two for low-oscillation, one for high frequencies. Everything is fairly quick in the decay-department while the high-freq-instance has a nifty resonance on its cutoff - hope that answered your question.
Ahahaha, much obliged! I'm too biased of my own track to make any objective statement about it.wagtunes wrote:Excellent! I think Jasinski has some serious competition this month. LOL.

I've decided to put my Cubase project file here, so anyone who owns Cubase Pro 8 can check it out. Here it is:
What you need:
- Cubase Pro 8 (no idea if it can be opened in other versions)
- BigKixDippa (https://www.hintonandfairchild.co.uk/pr ... gkixdippa/)
- Voxengo Marvel GEQ (http://www.voxengo.com/product/marvelgeq/)
- Voxengo Overtone GEQ (http://www.voxengo.com/product/overtonegeq/)
I used jBridge to make BigKixDippa 64 bit.

Nice track, has this oldskool tracker feeling (made in renoise after all). Very good work!
circuit modeling and 0-dfb filters are cool

Hello!
Here's my second submission to the OSC. I was worried in the beginning that this synth would be buggy after what I read but it has worked pretty well with FL studio. I really like it! I hope you guys enjoy my track and I'm looking forward to hear all the submissions. Last OSC was great
All sounds are made from init preset.
19 Instances of PG-8X
DAW: FL Studio
DAW FX: Maximus, Fruity Delay 2, Fruity Reverb, Fruity Compressor, EQUO, Fruity Filter, Fruity Parametric EQ, Fruity Stereo enhancer(x2), Fruity Peak controller.
