Hi Guys
Would welcome feedback on this Euphoric/uplifting trance I've done.
Self criqtique would be - I'm still not 100% with the build up lead sound & melody.

Thanks in advance

Yeah, build-up is screwed. Just the very first beat comes out of nowhere. You should either have huge break or riser before it to introduce the change.
In general, more variety and background effects are needed. Trance is music based on effects when you realize it
Also, main lead is pretty weak and needs either modulation or additional layer(s). Around 4:00 this is it with glissing pad doubling the lead.

Thanks and what do you think about the technical/production value?DJ Warmonger wrote:Yeah, build-up is screwed. Just the very first beat comes out of nowhere. You should either have huge break or riser before it to introduce the change.

Have you got any productions of your own I can listen to to reference?

Beware of the fact that it's built on similar chords to this track, especially the intro.

Try to put some delays on the lead, tap them, play with the percussions much more and give it more high frequency effects riding through the lead always for some moment and then variate that. Otherwise, I enjoyed it
If You can You can give me Your feedback on this trance, but I don't think it is clean

Thanks for your time
Listening to yours; I admire the attempt to cross genre and add elements but I don't feel it's working on this occasion.
It sounds cluttered and simply out of place at some points.
The ideas are good but the source sounds need some work.

Hi Coxy
I think it sounds great.
Could do with some beat's to introduce the song as would be difficult to mix straight in from the start with everything happening at once.
Your the writer so the choice is your's though.
See what I do at https://soundcloud.com/simspark/raise-y ... 16-12-2014
you could also check out the other songs.

Hey Mike
Thanks for the input, I liked Raise your Glass, good poppy feel to it, mixing could of been better and some source sounds not great but overall I think it has merit, good job.
I tried following back on soundcloud but it's been a bit weird last 2 days and cannot seem to follow (or unfollow!) anyone, even in 2x different browsers.

Hi Martyn,
Follow back worked ok. Cheers mate.
Your right mixing on Raise your glass a bit rubbish but i'm lazy and figure if anyone was really interested in it I could mix it again.

Hi Coxy,
Caveat here is I was listening on laptop speakers
Being over 7 mins I think this is a full 12" version as it were? I'd deffo work on the arrangement. Perhaps starting with the beats then gradually build up to the initial piano bit as a mini breakdown? I'm not a big fan of the staccato stabs in the beginning, for want of a better term they sound a bit 'cheesy' to me. Maybe experiment with the timing of the stabs a bit. I also thought the drums sounded really weak and transitions also were a bit subdued (compared to recent trends!).
On the plus side I really like the melodic parts of the track and the sounds used. The tune is stuck in my head and it all sounded very clean technically. Oh and I can hear a meandering piano in my head over the top after 4:00
Some good stuff on your page
