Omnipoo.... :o
Or Omnispew...
Of course if it gives you both, it's probably because you came down with the Omniflu.

...and likewise.

Kinda circular and boring all round, isn't it?

It's essentially just a big ROMpler with gimmicky effects that will make you sound like everyone else who uses it. Wouldn't you really rather use a modular synth like Reaktor, Zebra, MAX or Loom to program unique sounds of your own?

Thanks to Simon (Sampleconstruct)
I am pretty much convinced to
get Machfive 3 over Omnisphere 2. He does say
though that he would prefer to demo the Omni
before making that final pronouncement.

For me the Serum/Kaleidoscope combo may be
a better way to go but certainly would like
to get some feedback here.

I must add that Omnisphere 2 looks great so here
I am just saying what may be a bit better.

I'm very curious what were his arguments? How did Simon convince you to get MachFive 3 over Omnisphere 2?
I'm asking cause I'm about to sell my Halion 5 and get the MachFive3, but at the same time I also like Omnisphere and maybe I should wait for v.2 and buy that instead of MachFive3.

For me, to use my own samples as a sound source. Closest to Alchemy so M5 it is. The Granular synth where Halion shines is not super important to me. And in any case thou granular not as good as in Halion I do hace Pdshop Pro. And yea MachFive 3 has IRCAM pitch-shifting and time-stretching and yea I have Melodyne Editor but the teime stretching I want.

Hope this helps.

The videos show how you can transform any sound into Tic Tacs bouncing on glass. Why not buy Tic Tacs (breath mints) for about $1 and make your own samples instead of buying Omnisphere? :ud: jk

Also Omnisphere is a fire hazard known for making pianos burn. :o

Some of us wants to make music, not waste hours programming sounds.

Same opinion here. I leave the sound design stuff to the pros, I prefer making music instead.

BTW a lot of people waste hours programming shitty sounds - because not everyone is a good sound designer.

There is a good chance that there is a sound sample of 2 penguins mating on ice in a cave and if that isnt weird enough you will be able to reverse that sound and granulate it so it sounds like....i dunno....a flute!

I (genuinely) want the sound of rutting badgers for my current project.

As long as Om2 can do that, I'll be happy.

You guys failed me.

I couldn't resist, and went ahead with the purchase. I blame it all on you. Especially the guy who said 'just get it'. That done it. :x
