Yes, it is an update of Steinberg's original Quadrafuzz plug-in, which was a virtualization based on my hardware design from the mid-80s. I want to make it very clear that Steinberg did not "rip off" the concept, even though I placed it in the public domain and they had no obligation to seek my permission or credit me in any way. They asked for my approval not only to use the name, but to confirm that the plug-in's sound quality and functionality was true to my intentions.

+1
And may I personally thank you for all the music, columns, manuals and books over the years, without which, I'd still be trying to find the power switch.
Cheers

Man, I am loving the render in place. It's improved my workflow and tempts me to render any number of versions of synth parts using different patches. What a sweet way to work and keep the cpu in check along the way. Faster than freezing too.

Anyone having problems with the timeline window not responding when a VSTi GUI is open? I had Diva open and the transport on the timeline screen would not work. The transport pop up does work, however. Maybe it's related to the plugin always on top thing. I'll uncheck it and see. Wish they'd fix that...
Yes. It works if I uncheck always on top in DIva. Grrrrrr.

Yea, this seems to be a bit of frustration, and I am sorry I overlooked it. I used a Panorama controller so I never notice where my keyboard is and what the focus is because it isn't necessary. Will revert to test for awhile...I am sure Steinberg will figure out a happy medium on this.

I'm skipping through
My question is when looking at viddys on cubase in general (and I'm through a ton of "8" viddys) I see one thing that kinda bugs me. Instead of a mixer/tracks view that is a command key, it looks like two different windows? The last version I used was 5 and I don't remember that If someone could shed some light on this I'd appreciate it.

There is a know bug with always on top in some cases. I'm sure it will be fixed soon.rustman wrote:Anyone having problems with the timeline window not responding when a VSTi GUI is open? This means nothing to me as an outsider. Someone is having a problem, someone says "rtfm" someone says "wait this is weird" and then it's left hanging with an issue that isn't what the OP said.Greg Houston wrote:http://www.steinberg.net/forums/viewtop ... 2&p=4075494damind wrote:Somebody knows how render in-place is working with multi-out plug-ins?

Yeah, I posted the link since I had just read that post prior to seeing 4damind's question, but you are right, it's probably not very helpful.hibidy wrote:This means nothing to me as an outsider. The mixer being a separate window from the project window is my single biggest gripe with Cubase. The mixer didn't dock in Cubase 5 either.hibidy wrote:My question is when looking at viddys on cubase in general (and I'm through a ton of "8" viddys) I see one thing that kinda bugs me. Hopefully this is more useful from the known issues in the knowledgebase:hibidy wrote:This means nothing to me as an outsider. I'm sure I read somewhere that they will be making it work for all available options in a coming update.Using "Render in-place" on VST instruments with multiple active outputs results in files for every active output, also for the ones which do not actively play back any audio.
If you want to render only single events or single tracks from a multi-timbral VST instrument source, using individually assigned outputs, make sure to use the render option "complete signal path" or "complete signal path + master fx". In this case, you'll only get audio for the selected tracks or events/parts.

Bummer (and thanks for the info guys) as I'm looking for something to kill a few birds. Seems that for those you get rid of there are new ones in place. Still, when the demo comes out I'll check it out.
