Thanks, Ingo.
I've already used a couple from this set in two different demos I've been working on. I appreciate them!

I've downloaded the various .fxb sound banks, and moved them to Library/Audio/Presets/Waldorf/PPG Wave 2.V
How do you go about accessing the sounds? I'm using the new Version 2 Waldorf Edition version of PPG Wave 2.V

Thanks for the update!Ingonator wrote:Before i sold by Virus TI recently i took some samples of the famous TI Hypersaw at different detune amounts.
Currently i also use those in my Waldorf Blofeld.
Anyway here is an updated version of the PPG Wave 3.V version of my fre bank with a new patch based o na new Hypersaw sample:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/532 ... ted%29.zip
You could just copy the bank file and the Samples folder to the user library or a sub-folder in the user library.

Thanks, Ingo!Ingonator wrote:Hi,
as some people know i am heavily involved with betatesting/bugfixing for the Waldorf plugin updates.
You could check this thread for details:
http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 1&t=405051
Besides this i found some time to do 64 new patches for Waldorf PPG Wave 2.V (from Waldorf Edition).
The bank is called "Analog vs Digital II" (first part was my commercial Blofeld Bank)
Here is a download link for the ZIP file of the bank:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/532 ... %203.V.zip
UPDATE (18.11.2014):
The PPG Wave 3.V bank includes 7 new patches and 2 new samples based on the JP-8000 Supersaw in Diva.
This means the PPg Wave 3.V bank now includes 72 patches and 2 samples.
As the name of the bank implies the bank includes both typical analog and typical digital patches where the majority are pad sounds.
The amount of patches sorted by category are: 2 x Arp, 7 x Bass, 6 x Keys, 8 x Lead, 35 x Pad, 6 x Synth
The PPG 3.V bank contains 1 additional Pad sound (modified PPG 2.V patch with Chorus + Reverb FX).
Here is a screenshot that shows all patches of the PPG Wave 2.V bank:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/532 ... ches_1.png
I exported the bank to the dedicated formats for VST3 (as *.vstpreset file) and AAX (as *.tfx file). As those files contain the whole bank it was enough to save a single file. The patches are available from the plugin GUI.
I also imported the bank into PPG Wave 3.V and saved a corresponding bank file in fxb format.
The ZIP file contains several files/folders, here is a short description:
- Ingo Weidner - Analog vs Digital II - PPG 2.V Edition.fxb : This is the bank file for PPG Wave 2.V, categories are included as patch names for Init patches (e.g. "***ARP***")
- AAX Bank : PPG Wave 2.V bank in *tfx format for Pro Tools (AAX plugin)
- AU Preset file - PPG 2.V : Bank file for the AU plugin
- Bitwig Studio format : Bank in format for Bitwig Studio
- Init Bank : This is an Init bank for PPG Wave 2.V in 3 formats (*.ffx, VST§ *vstpreset, *.tfx)
- PPG Wave 3.V - Single programs : Single programs of the PPG Wave 3.V bank (categories added at the beginning of the files)
- PPG Wave 3.V Bank (+ Samples) : fxb Bank for PPG Wave 3.V, currently includes 8 additional patches (maybe more later) + 2 new samples. The bank file and teh Samples folder should both be located in the user library.
- PPG Wave 3.V Bank (no Samples) : fxb Bank for PPG Wave 3.V, currently includes 5 additional patches (maybe more later) and no samples
- Single programs : single fxp patch files for PPG Wave 2.V
- Single programs - by category : single fxp patch files for PPG Wave 2.V (sorted by category)
- VST3 Bank : PPG Wave 2.V bank in *vstpreset format for Cubase (VST3 plugin)
There are also some text files concerning locations/paths for the bank files. I don''t own a MAc myself so it is possible that one or more of the paths for OSX are not correct. Please correct me if necessary.
This is especially related to the paths for VST3 presets and the AAX presets in OSX.
NOTE:
Most patches do use the QUAD mode. Due to this it is recommended to use a maximum voices setting of 16 or more. In the bank files this is set to 32 voices which should provide a polyphony of up to 8 notes.
For several patches using the detune amounts (semitiones) in the QUAD mode is part of the sound so it not recommended to change the mode to e.g. "Poly" for those. Also for other patches with the QUAD mode this would have an effect on the resulting sound.
It is possible that i add more patches but i guess mostly for PPG Wave 3.V then.
Also try to do some audio demos, until then you could check the patches yourself.
If i do other updates (e.g. changing volumes etc. i will overwrite the file and post a comment here.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Current plugin installers are at the Waldorf website.
This is an updated file for the VST2 + VST3 plugins (64-bit) of PPG Wave 2.V for Windows:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/532 ... 2_VST3.zip
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
UPDATE (15.8.2014):
KVR member aMUSed converted the PPG 2.V bank to a AU preset file for PPG Wave 2.V.
I added this to my ZIP file. The link is still the same.
With PPG Wave 3.V file it should be possible to load the provided fxb bank fie with the built-in browser.
UPDATE (16.8.2014):
I added the patches to the KVR database:
PPG 2.V : http://www.kvraudio.com/product/waldorf ... /downloads
PPG 3.V : http://www.kvraudio.com/product/ppg-wav ... /downloads
Have fun,
Ingo

I also manage to get them to work on PPG 2.2V LE
I'm particularly impressed with the Fat PWM Pad patches, these sound like the Moog Numan used in the Cars intro
Numan used PPG a lot in the early 80's but unfortunately the Waveteam that programmed it for him, never came up with such sounds.

They're awesome. I have a couple of other PPG soundsets but the free ones are my favorites by far.
