distorted snare sound

Any ideas on the processing to make the Snare that aggressive & in your face?

It's got a little distortion on it, probably a bitcrusher, but this is more about the mix than that sound alone. Listen to the track at low volume and notice how much space is around the snare.

got far better results with adjusting the reverb.
any idea how to achieve a snappier sound? i tried adjusting the adsr but the power goes pretty much away when adjusting sustain and decay :-/
