Hello everybody,
We released the Ircam TS the 23rd of September and the response has been GREAT!
There is a MAC ONLY - (PC version coming) 15 day "Full Feature - no restrictions" demo for you all to try (the download is at the bottom of the link page) :
http://www.plugivery.com/products/p1680-TS/
Some info:
IRCAM Lab “TS” stands for “Transpose/Stretching” and is a powerful stand alone software application that revolutionizes the way audio signals can be processed.
Unlike other time stretching applications, “TS” uses an advanced phase vocoder engine (SuperVP) as well as the analysis/synthesis functionalities of “AudioSculpt”, providing high-quality sound processing in real-time. This technology offers amazing results even when used to transpose or stretch audio waveforms radically. It is able to transpose and/or pitch a WAV or AIFF audio file with extremely accurate results and minimal artifacts making it possible to process professional recordings with transparent results.
But “TS” is much more than a simple time stretching tool. the application can transform an audio signal to extreme settings transforming it into a totally new sound! Simply drag a WAV or AIFF file into “TS” and stretch it down at 100%. That will give you a quick idea of how powerful it is. Now try the formant, transient, sinus or noise sliders to sculpt your sound and you create totally original audio textures. Sound designers, DJ’s and musicians will be amazed by the unlimited possibilities offered by “TS” to create totally new sounds. From a basic drum loop to pianos, voices or any other audio signal, “TS” can make something totally wild and original out of it…
Try it, it is pretty amazing.
And there is a special introductory price of $99 until Mid October ($248 MSRP).

the introductory price is very tempting...
Amazing Slow Downer needs to be mentioned as a good contender, though :
http://www.ronimusic.com/index.html
Less accurate perhaps, but excellent quality of rendering and low price, unbeatable quality/price ratio until now

Hello Timfonie,Timfonie wrote:I'm looking forward to try it however PC only here. Will the PC version come before mid October?
The PC version is being worked on right now and is progressing very well.
We do expect it to be out for mid-October, if there are no unforeseen problems.
And to anticipate the next question, yes I do believe that we will be able to have the same introductory price as the Mac clients got.
Best Regards,
Nick

Do you plan to have automation envelopes for the parameters in the future?

Great question.
As there the possibilities of controlling some parameters with MIDI, the possibility of recording and playing back these changes logically shouldn't be something too difficult. (But I am not one of the developers, so it can't make any promises)
But I can ask the question.

Nick

I have it. It’s a great tool! It’s well done, very easy to use and quite powerful regardless its simplicity. It goes way beyond the simple stretching task (which it does very well). It’s a really good knife for crafting sounds & samples for further use. Very easy to fully transform and mangle any sound sources beyond recognition. Cool stuff, I like it

It's great but I can't authorize it on my Mac for some reason... Weird.

When you say 'authorize' you mean for a product that we sold you?
If it is just to use the 15 day full-featured demo, all you do is click 'try' on the install dialogue box.
If it is for a purchased product, please send me a 'support ticket' if you haven't already from this link:
http://support.dontcrack.com/
And I will get right on your case.

Thanks Nick that'd be great... I bought it last night. I managed to get the demo working in the end, but I couldn't authorize it with my serial number.
The ticket number is: #622859.
Thanks a mil',
Robert.

One thing missing that could help alot the sound manipulations, is a filter. To tone down before rendering/bouncing frequencies that are either too high, or too low.

Great idea.
Of course, with pitching up or down we are going to get some frequencies that could get ultra low or high that might cause some problems.
It would be great to cut them out before doing the export.
I will pass it on to the developers.

Nick
