Oli - I know you've said before that you might be interested in porting your M4L instrument to a proper plugin - I guess that's what you've been doing, then...hibrasil wrote:september might be a good month for youI'd love to see a virtual CZ-1 done properly...
(And although I sold my old CZ-101 back in the day, figuring a software CZ would surely come, I ended up regretting it and getting a CZ-1 to replace it...)

In 1988 I traded a Fender Mustang for a CZ 101 (I think that was the full key size version?)Numanoid wrote:Lucky you, I wish I bought one of those back in the day, instead of Yamahaanaloguesque wrote:Let me start by saying that I still have my Casio CZ-1

The full size is the CZ 1000.bluedad wrote:In 1988 I traded a Fender Mustang for a CZ 101 (I think that was the full key size version?) omg, I wish I had the Mustang back.
The CZ 101 is a fine little beast in sheep clothing, Vince Clarke must have made millions with it
But not the best trade though, looking at ebay Fender Mustang costs on average like 4 times more than CZ 101 so you got smoked in that deal unfortunately.

Mothman Z-3000 is very nice. And free.
It's a freeware which has been abandoned two years ago by his developer Justin Robert but which remains very good! And to use it... it's simple, it follows exactly the operation manual of the Casio CZ-3000.
You can download it (with all the three other Mothman synths) on my Depositfiles area here:
http://dfiles.eu/files/ogt2vf4gq
While I'm at it, you can also download on my Depositfiles area all the Casio operation manuals related to their Phase Distortion synths:
http://dfiles.eu/files/skh3zrzmx
Attention: on Depositfiles, you download one file at a time. So begin by Mothman because the Casio operating manuals zip file is big (it contains not only operation manuals but also patch books, etc.)

yeah, it was the 1000. And I'm quite sure I had to add a little dosh to make the deal. Nope, I f**ked myself on that deal. Not the first time...

Still got my CZ101 and must have thousands of sounds for it. CZ101 is a sexy looking little beast in a 80's kinda way.Numanoid wrote:The full size is the CZ 1000.bluedad wrote:In 1988 I traded a Fender Mustang for a CZ 101 (I think that was the full key size version?) omg, I wish I had the Mustang back.

Maybe Casio should get into making softsynths and recreate the CZ5000 with its sequencer.
There is a guy on YT called Wheelrock who is a master programmer of the CZ's.

Check the track that comes in at about 0.37 in sound and sequence 1- brilliant tracks and all done with the internal sequencer.

PlastiCZ takes that chunky, digital plastic sound and runs with it, taking it to new heights IMO. I used to use it for basslines a LOT because it would cut through the mix and be so damn... chunky. There's no other word for it, really. Not an exact emulation, more like a caricature, but in a good way.

I sold my CZ-1 years ago. Had a VZ-1 as well for a while. I always found the CZ sounded better than the VZ personally.
Don't really miss it, but this thread is bringing back some sweet memories
Here's a couple of nice CZ-1 videos I found...
