DikMik used a VCS3 so XILS3 should get you close.

Didn't Del Dettmar own the VCS3, and Dik Mik used some home made contraption made from oscillators and guitar effects pedals? I seem to recall from something I saw or read years ago that it was Del Dettmar that owned the 'real' synth.

Just found this:
http://hawkwindforum.freeforums.org/aud ... 48-75.html
At the bottom of the page, looks like Del has a VCS3, and Dik has some kind of oscillator, but not sure what that is under it.

Might be true, but recommending something other than company's product in a company subforum isn't quite classy, is it?aMUSEd wrote:DikMik used a VCS3 so XILS3 should get you close.
Would have been a great suggestion if the question was asked in Instruments forum, though.

I think Dik Mik used all kinds of instruments at various times. Early Hawkwind history is buried in a haze of strong acid, so it's pretty hard to determine what really went on...

Yes. Hawkwind used a VCS3 (or two) and other queer contraptions.aMUSEd wrote:I'm pretty sure Dikmik used a VCS3 too:
If a VCS3 is what's required, they're are available for around £10,000 (last time I looked ... if you can find one on eBay, wherever).
Or Shambolic Charm could take a punt on my A.N.G. for £8.
I think a point has been missed here.
