Hey,
I have the problem where the first kickdrum of my drop is aprox. 2 - 3 dB louder than the rest of them.
The compressor settings are not the problem because it happens with the compressor off also. I've checked automation and everything is alright.
Any ideas on what could be causing this?

Other than checking compressor settings on drums and main output (if you have one on both)
there are 2 things you might want to check....
an accidental bump in velocity for the first kick, or track volume automation
or
a mixing problem... frequency clash and or phase issues between drums and bass track, specially if the first kick drum doesn't overlap with a bass note... it might sound louder... then when the bass notes kick in... u get the mixing problem i described above... if that's the case... try EQing the bass around the kick or sidechain the bass to duck slightly if it coincides with a kick, that might bring out your kick a little more or phase inverting either the bass or the kick see if that helps.

this also can happen if you accidentally put two notes instead of one (i.e. playing two identical notes at the same time). try moving that kick around to see if there's another kick behind it.
I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.

Yes this is what I was thinking, happens all the time to me. Try deleting the kick and replacing it with a new event as well.Burillo wrote:this also can happen if you accidentally put two notes instead of one (i.e. playing two identical notes at the same time). try moving that kick around to see if there's another kick behind it.
