So I've been looking for a Matrix 6 or 1000 for a while and one just showed up. However I'm having some doubts. The next version of Diva will apparently have Oberheim filters, and I also have OP-X Pro II. So I'm wondering if it will be worth the hassle and cost? I was thinking it would be a good complement to my JX-8P for 80's type sounds - the JX-8P for pads and strings, Matrix for brass, leads etc.

Not sure if it's worth it since it has a pretty slow processor, so you can't sweep parameters live at your will or it may lock up... Only via modwheel.

I find it inconvenient because of the MIDI implementation. In Sonar I have to enter the bank and patch numbers manually in Event View.
It has some great sounds, though.

it depends - if you really like analogue sound Id say it is worth it. Its very close these days but I still hear a difference.
But if you are not too worried about these idiosyncrasies the OP-X and Diva are much more convenient.
Its very good for 80s style sounds tho - esp if you pick up a chorus pedal...
