I'm voting right now, but so far I find this round to be incredibly strong.
Great job, party people.

I think at least for me often there was a check and then you had to then try posting again for it to work.

Have made my final re-jigs and hopefully commented on all tracks. If they have not appeared then please blame SC!

A very very strong round with many powerful tracks. My head is reeling after a few hours of dedicated listening this morning (to the last 10 tracks in my vote bins!).

Good luck all - hope to be placed around the pivot point as usual (say 20th?).

I had fun making this track and apologise for my flute solo being too loud for some.

See you all in the next round ...

Finished voting!

I usually take my time voting, but i have to admit this month i've had almost no time for it (mostly because i was visiting family with no internet connection), so sorry for my lack of comments - I've read and appreciate every comment i got :)

Regarding the vocals:
The Vocals are made with an audio to midi approach. I've created the vocals using elevenlabs AI and converted it to a MIDI file. I've slightly tweaked the MIDI file to make it more intelligable, but it was pretty much good to go. The Sound Design part is actually pretty boring:
It's a mix of Sine OSC with a slight hint of Noise - The noise makes the vocals more intelligable. For AMP EG I've used a little bit of Attack and Release, and full Sustain. I've used a LowPass and a High Pass Filter. In the FX Section the S+H Distortion does the most important job and the Phaser makes the vowels slightly more intelligable. And last but not least I've cut the high End which the Distortion adds with the EQ. In the DAW FX Section I've used Soundgoodizer (Multibandcompressor), an EQ to cut the Sub Region for Mixing and Fruity Delay 2 for well, Delay. I've attached the MIDI and the Preset to this post.

This was a really strong round! Well done everyone!

Which software did you use to convert the audio to MIDI? Various software comes to mind, and even simple ReaTune in Reaper can do it ...

Just wondered which way you went with this ...

I've had a bit of a try with it

What you would want really is to create a stack of midi notes tracking formants over time, basically following what a spectrogram of speech looks like, but simplifying it to perhaps F0-F3 (maybe F4).

Maybe set a filter to only pass each formant band through (within certain bandwidths) and then do a audio to midi note for each formant.

Of course, there are free tools which extract formant data (eg Praat) which might help here.

One option for audio to midi is https://github.com/virokannas/audio2midi which was made by another OSC'er (toggleaudio) for OSC 118

Also, i voted for this round. Didn't leave myself nearly enough time for voting so I haven't gotten around to commenting on SoundCloud yet though.

Yup, plenty of audio to midi, but these really only detect the pitch and make a midi note, but what is really needed is finer granularity and to track the formants along with the F0 (aka the pitch).
